Went with these. Other than the jaw can sometimes come loose, the make good crimps and have several sets of jaws.

I use the same set, has worked well for me so far and the ability to swap the dies via quick release is fantastic. It's a lot bigger than it looks in the pictures - good size handles. Hung most of my body weight off a ubiquitous blue insulated crimp before it failed at the wire.

Does not look great, but they will be behind the dash, so was not too worried. Fabricated up a hose attachment points for the ac/heat hoses being routed behind the dash.

Here are the dash vents. Out of an old airplane...

Welded the seat belt brackets and a mount for a high lift to the cage.

It has two long treaded 1/2 inch bolts welded to the brackets so I can adjust it around if needed.

Also getting the prep work done for the other interior stuff - created speaker boxes....literally.....I will use them as templates and translate them to thin sheet metal later. Had to make them bigger than I had planned for as the kenwoods I bought had covers that measured well beyond the actual speaker size.... did not catch that when I was buying them... o well ... should provide some decent volume to drown out the rest of the sounds coming from her.

Its better to use wood for the speaker boxes, steel will resonate.

Carb cooling fan has decided to go on strike and while I don’t believe it to be an ‘essential worker’ - I do think it helps it warm weather! I am not gifted in diagnosing electrical issues but can change out parts so....... I cleaned the sensor good then tracked down a replacement cooling fan computer thingy as well as a new relay. Didn’t get to test it out today but hopefully the carb will get a nice blow job tomorrow 🤣

Put a different set of wheels/tires on the 55. I had KM3's on it but they looked too small (because they run small). The KM3's went on my 40 and these are Maxxis Razor MT's with a non stock darker grey on the wheels (RAL 7043). They are a lot closer to a true 33" tire.
