Well said sir and you're entitled to say that. But being of lawyerly bent I feel entitled to state that as a truth myself. I've done buggerall for weeks, make that months, and probably will not for months to come but I say confidently and without fear of contradiction that everyday that passes my project gets closer to being done, even if the work needed to finish is done by somebody else long after I'm dead. Today it is one day closer to being done. You've inspired me I may even do something myself tomorrow. Keep up the good work. Looking good!

Got her back from a few weeks at the spa (tune up, new radiator/water pump/thermostat/belts/oil pan gasket/seal up multiple leaks) and then I had a flow master 50 series put on since the stock muffler had a bunch of holes in it (the 50 is super quiet ... the stocker with holes was way loud). Next up is stock steel wheels, tires and suspension, and then it's on to the rest of the cosmetic stuff.
Cutoff old rot. Tacked new driver side rocker panel in place. Drank a beer.
Thank you...It’s been a fun project. Hopefully, it’ll be ready to light the fires and kick the tires here in the next couple of weeks. Fingers and toes crossed
How hard was it all to complete? I’ve been staring at mine leaking for awhile.
I found 10mm driveshaft bolts where 11mm were supposed to be. I shimmed the rear brake calipers, aligned the front end, and replaced the tie rod end boots.
Put the soft top on and enjoyed a drive in the sunshine. First time I’ve had the truck out since October. So much rain lately! Drove over to the local dam to check out flow thru the flood gates. Lots of water pushing south in the Tennessee!
I finally got around to installing the Dakota digital dash and found out the the fuel sending unit is not working so that will be the next project. I have to say I am very impressed with the Dakota Digital dash, it’s not perfect but it is really darn close. Took about 4 1/2 hours with a buddy who knows what he’s doing, not an install for a novice! The best part is I know have a tach in the 40.....
Finished rebuilding my parking brake, and got it adjusted. First time its worked properly in years!
Continued to tinker and button up new bits from my harness swop.

Moved on to the passenger side floor. Removed the gas tank and cleaned up. The majority of the surface rust was where the original gas tank pads were located. Wired brushed and then brushed on the rust converter. Just waiting for more paint to arrive. Maybe I should do a build thread for this one?
Buttoning up the wiring harness and taking a second look on the edic system. Installed new factory ND ac system (revised for r134a compliance, more modern style amplifier module while still retaining the period correct and oem look).
While at it, installed the roof cap with new oem headliner and weatherstripping.

Looks nice. I've never seen the AC placed in the center below the dash like that. In 40's with the heater they were always placed on the passenger side as there was no other space for it.
Would you mind showing more of you ND ac retrofit?
I'm trying to get mine up and running again and it could help.

Ran errands in it today. This guy parked next to me. So much chrome and decals... It must be a Jeep thing, and I definitely don’t understand.
