Looks good. Would look (and work) even better with some ubolt skidplates.I put in some 2 degree shims to improve my caster. It helped. I am impressed with the better steering especially on the highway. Also swapped the original u-bolts for some new ones. Was so proud of myself I also put in a new speedo cable and my needle bounce is now gone!View attachment 1912108
I’ve bought a full set of U-bolt skid plates from SOR when I drove there about 20 years ago. I installed the rears ages ago... but the fronts are sitting on a shelf next to the castor wedges and U-bolts. Perhaps it’ll happen this summer... hopefully the Scout II box and 3.70 gears will happen at the same time to round out the project.Looks good. Would look (and work) even better with some ubolt skidplates.![]()

I guess I should have made it a full-on plug and said Mark’s Off Road U bolt skidplates.I have looked at those u-bolt skid plates and although I dont do any hard wheeling, I am on some pretty rocky nasty hunting roads every year. Sure wouldn't hurt to have them. If nothing else it will make my son and uncle jealous! Guess I'll add them to the list.
Did you take the height difference into concideration?
No. Those are only for the transportation on my trailer (on it’s edges).Did you take the height difference into concideration?
