After years of work to get my 40 back on the road we were finally able to take it out to dinner for the first time!

Installed the H horn I got from Mark. Beep Beep. Also bought 2 carbs (3/69-9/69)— both have the sight glass (good to have couple of spares) and one had the solenoid which I needed. Should get heater blower in next week.

I honestly believe that I could paint TOYOTA in 4' high red letters on the side and some idiot would still call it a Jeep. I even had one special idiot ask if I built the mail Jeep myself.

David,
The letters on my 45 tailgate are 11" tall in white on a bright blue back ground and they still call it a J**p! The illiteracy rate today is apparently rather high!?

Well........... I’m at the gym the other day trying to coax my body into doing something when this youngster settles onto the bench next to me and says “I really like your FJ40!”
I say “thanks... and I’m impressed you know that it’s not a danged (think I said danged?) ole Jeep!”

We both went about our respective workouts.... his was much more lively ——— I started wondering why he didn’t ask any more questions about the 40, which is usually the norm...............

Got my answer as I was visiting the water cooler near the front window and happened to see the same youngster getting into his ride to leave; it was a..........................................................................................................

JEEP :grinpimp:

I have taken my 40 out a couple times to go fishing, nothing like banging the rear springs against the spring hanger the whole way up a bumpy dirt road. I actually had to put it into 4 low to get in and out of one fishing hole, that 40 has to earn its keep somehow! Even found some huckleberries growing already in a few areas I fished!

Threw some paint on the fenders of the 64, then placed the bib on just to see her face again, need to clean up those surface rusted calipers and tre's. :/

Then I blasted and rattle canned the original windshield hooks on the 78...

Garage is looking pretty empty right now. Loose parts are all either at the sand blaster, or the powder coaters. A few other new bits either in storage under the house or on a shelf in the bedroom closet. Tub gets removed tomorrow.

Went topless. No pictures of me topless, that ain't pretty. The 40 looks downright sexy topless.

Built some heat shields to try and get my floor below 140 degrees. Not sure how much good they’ll do with the V8 right in front of me but it was a fun side project.

Bought an H3R Performance Halguard fire extinguisher— not cheap but I like the science behind and, of course, the color—got the bar and the flat mount— am thinking flat mount next to Tuffy box plus it offsets Hi Lift on other side
