100 degrees in San Diego today (some parts of LA got up to 115) and very fitting that I am installing a working heater blower—as it turns out, my PO had a lot of pet wasps that he kept in the blower— can’t tell you how much wasp mud I cleaned out. First pix is “new” blower and second pix is wasp city or remnants thereof

Put some 750r-16 KM3s on the Goat

That works out to about 32" tall and 8.5" wide in size conversion right? Glad to see the KM3 in that size. I like my 35's a lot so far. Do they look a lot narrower/shorter in real life to the 33x10.50 (15) KO2's on your Pig?

Thanks for fueling my addiction for wanting a 45.

They for sure smaller than the 33x10.50 1” shorter and the key for me since I have manual steering is the 2” narrower and 3” narrower contact patch. They steer like a dream.

I know I already nagged you about this @wngrog but with all these new tires you know we need a shakedown/comparison thread. Really curious how the KM3 performs. The KM2 seems to have been the go-to tire for years so hopefully the KM3 is as good, but I really like the LOOK of the Yoko Geolandars. I haven't seen a ton of real-world data on them. Decisions Decisions.

Those are about the same size as the BFG LT235/85R16 AT KO2s on my '86 FJ60 with 70-Series wheels - so far I'm happy with the combination now that the 33X9.50s I used to run are no longer available.

I'm thinking of replacing the original suspensions in my '71 and '76 FJ40s with OME, and running the same wheels and tires as on the '86.

Not to sidetrack this thread with a bunch of tire talk, but the original thought was that the Yokohama’s would be the same size as the 235:85-16 KO2s I have on my M416 but they are WAY taller and even a bit wider. I have lots of pics and details here

City Racer 16” wheels with Yokohama M/T G2003s

Then, when I first saw the 700r-16 I was thinking it would be somewhere in the middle of the two but the KM3 is bigger than I expected (pleasantly) but not quite as big as the 235/85-16 Yokohama’s.

Confused? Sorry. Tire size is important especially if you are not running lifts as with Patina and The Goat

I’m a BFG homer to the bone and I’m deeply in lust with my Yokohama. I’ve obviously got a lot of driving to do but my initial impressions are better than the BFG. Time will tell.

Had what I’m guessing was a combination of rust and baked on mud that was confounding my scrubbing efforts...
Mud forum to the rescue: recall seeing someone use naval jelly/scotch pad on similar mess - favorable results so far!

Although I feel driven to address rust issues where I can, I’m now convinced that some rust ain’t so bad thanks to:

My 33/10.5r15 bfg km3s showed up today, it will be a while before they get mounted but im glad to have them on hand. Next projects will be replacing top wheel well skins and passenger side outer rocker panel once they arrive from real steel cruiser parts.
