I used the same but in white.
Yep... but in white. 2 tubes should do it@imyahucklbrry could this be the self leveling seam sealer you used?

Toyota mechanic friend noticed that the PO had the wrong alternator pulley on my 1975 FJ40 2f.
View attachment 1428846 I finally found a 2f pulley and swapped it out.View attachment 1428843
Incorrect one on left.

OK, I know this doesn't count as FJ progress but if you look you can see my FJ in the background and it's in the spirit of FJ progress. My wife didn't appreciate what I was doing and I thought you guys might.
I bought one tube and still have plenty left. Because I have a roof rack, I only put the "goo" over the gap between the top and the rain gutter. I didn't want the rack feet to dig into soft sealer. I wouldn't fill the gutter to the top, maybe an eighth of an inch or so. Just enough to get a good seal. HTH.@skidplate how much did you need to do roof perimeter seam?
Do you have a build thread?Working on flipping the rear springs and moving the rear wheel well back to keep the stock opening.

Front of the opening will be coming back next.

Are you moving the wheel wells to handle bigger tires? Lengthen the driveline? I am considering doing a h55 swap into my 40 and want to use a tcase ebrake. That results in an unacceptably short driveline apparently. Looking at your project makes me wonder if that is not a solution. Thanks
Paint looks good to me, have you tried a polish and wax? Maybe wash a small section and try to see if it will polish up with some wax and or polishing compound.
It doesn't look like you need to repaint the whole top from the pictures.
You can fix the gutter seam sealer without painting the whole top.
So I am planning on using the topcoat you used to cover my leveling seam sealer on the gutter as my hardtop is generally in great shape. My question is what type of primer should I use over the sealer before I apply the topcoat?Paint looks good to me, have you tried a polish and wax? Yeah man, those 3M Bristle Discs are the way to go!Using Roloc bristle brush wheel with var speed drill to clean up underside of hardtop-big thanks to @overton for reccomending this wheel, dont know how I would do it without one of these. 2.5 hours of work into it so far-takes time.View attachment 1433436
