Who says these are the top mechanics in Denver? The internet?
I could have worded better, but the internet had nothing to do with my opinion of them. hey I didn't include Golden or Boulder.

Changed oil and filter, cleaned TB and MAF, then cleaned out kibble that some feral vermin hauled into the air box, and changed the air filter.

Swapped out 22" slide on drawer for a 28" for more access, then reorganized gear. Started to work on camp drawer with some new ideas before throwing my arms up and walking away since new slides are 1/8" wider and need to chop down drawer.

Greasing drive train tomorrow, along with some more cargo work, and maybe a belt/tensioner swap.

With the tent and awning off, along with some steelies I need to send off for powder coat, and an M416 project I've been putting off, winter storage is getting tough in the garage!

Nice. I have an M101 A3 project Waiting for this winter.

Nice! But, no such thing as Slee UCA's. They are SPC Performance UCA's sold by Slee.

Ordered them with the lift without looking at them. Didn't even know they existed.

But okay. SPC.

Gold star for you. :)

Tried to remove my CDL activator! With no luck!

Put in new Mighty Lift hood supports, got entry fob mostly working, started the regreasing/baselining process, get a big old smile whenever I see it in my garage.

Finished up a set of 07 headlights, next to a 80 Series headlight. I know what two members will be doing soon :)
Very nice did you fit in the projector lens? Any chance they bolt in a 2001 LC ?

Added Maggiolina tent and Thule bars/mounts to secure to my Afircan Outback rack.

Figured out why Bubbles stalled-out while merging onto I-80 the other day...

They are from a MUD members 2007. He opted for the Japanese Lexus LS460's (bi-xenon) and sent me his OEM headlights. It's been quite a bit of work getting them to sit right in the reflector. I am just getting around to the solenoid hookups and dealing with the DRL

I am sure I will have a few once the member installs them.

See above.

This is the only way to do a proper headlight conversion, all those plug and play HID kits, LED bulbs, etc, are all gimmicks. You can't take technology from the 90's and expect it to work with technology from 2013, you have to fit the newer technology properly.

Took my calipers from rust to bling.

Painted the pinch weld with rubberized under coating and rust encapsulator, similar to as another member did recently, mainly to help seal up some missing paint from rock damage. Also greased drivetrain, and did some more work upgrading drawers, and organizing gear for winter.

Finally got around to ordering some canvas prints of some glamour shots from 100s in the hills... Great gift idea to tell your old ladies about for your man cave!

That's ugly. You ingest any rodents?

catching up on a bunch of stuff

Wow, I am impressed with those calipers ianewk! Is that a primer and paint procedure? Mine definitely need some attention like that.

I have been delinquent in posting the work I have been doing on our new (to us) 01 hundy, so consider this the catch up post.

Before we drove it back all the way from NC to AZ, the dealership that inspected it changed all the fluids. When we got it back to AZ Camelback Toyota did the timing belt, water pump, cam seals and an awesome engine clean.

Since then I spent a lot of time removing some broken engine undercover bolts (6 in all I think) Most had to be drilled out and re-tapped, but a couple I was able to back out with vice grips after plenty of heat and PB blaster.

I wire-wheeled and painted the front (#1) engine undercover too - and removed the foam sponge piece on the front. Most of the worst rust was near/under the sponge.

We've also given it a thorough bath and clean inside and out - and gotten it dirty again on a couple of trips to Mexico and another to the beach.

I ran it out of gas!! I know its not good (at least its not a diesel - though I wish I had a diesel hundy), but I also wanted to know where the needle was when it happened. We were on our way back from Mexico the second time, it was late Sunday night and the kids were fussing so we didn't stop. We made it home fine, but the following evening after work I decided to make a costco gas run and fill up. I made it 0.5 miles and chug chug she was all out. I had a 5gal tank of gas with me, so it was no biggie. I snapped a pic of the gauge so you can all benefit too. My ultra-gauge is only 50 miles off! (stock tires and wheels)

I was also rewarded with an awesome price for gas at the Santan Costco - $2.98.

I found a sweet deal on amazon for 4 Alpine 610 speakers, one pair with separate tweeters and one pair with them integrated. My wife helped me install them and we decided to paint the speaker grills instead of recovering them. I think it worked out really well. First she lightly sanded (steel wool) the old glue residue off and then multiple light coats of Rustoleum Dark Taupe flat spray paint. It matches well and we expect it to hold up much better than the fabric. Our '03 Tacoma has the same look - sans fabric.

While doing the speakers, I noticed that the front door covers have some felt backing on them and that the rears did not, so I added some foam carpet underlayment to the rear doors to absorb some more sound. It fits well. I have also noticed that some LCs have a layer of foam over the vapor barrier on the front doors, while others do not (based on pix here on MUD).

The speakers sound great. There is a tonne of bass in the front pair - maybe even too much - is that possible? I notice that there is a lot more bass when the fader is used to send audio to the front vs the rear, I wondered if the sub is only based on the front speakers? I am also slightly concerned that I have the phase different for the fronts and rears because the PO had some Sony's in the front only and they were wired backwards - at least according to the FSM wiring diagrams. I will dig into this more when I put a new head unit into it, one day.

I repainted the rear roof rack lateral. It had lost a lot of paint (not sure why the rear was missing some and not the front) - but I sanded it clean, primed it with rustoleum etching primer and then several coats of flat black. Getting the roof rack mount covers off (just the rears) was tough because the little metal clasps had rusted a bit. I broke one of the plastic stand offs in the cover, but the super glue I used seems to have bonded really well.

Our LC came to us with a 30 pin iPod cable adaptor tied into the stock 6-CD player so I knew there had to be an adaptor in there somewhere, so I tore the center console out and found the USA SPEC PA-12-TOY and saw to my delight that it also had a pair of RCA inputs which I then hooked up to a regular stereo mini to RCA cable so I could also have a line in for my iPhone 5 and anything else we may want to plug in - at least until I get a different head unit and amp. While working on this I also removed the faux wood plastic trim pieces from the arm rests and center console. We'll leave it on the dash center piece.

I have removed the sliders, which were packed with rocks and sand. Looks much better. Next I am deciding between spacers for the rear with cranking the torsion bars, or actually getting springs and shocks...

I also did the power steering flush, using the return line extension trick, worked awesome. Thanks to MUD for a great how to on that one. (Should be added to the FAQ I think).

I also transferred the FOB transponder from the well worn stock key shell to a flip key. I really like it. It sometimes needs a little coercion to push in to release the key when turning it CCW.

Question: when I jacked up the LC in the center to do the power steering flush (using the right spot on the engine undercover), I noticed that my front wheels left the ground at different times, maybe even as much as an inch apart. The truck was in my shop which is pretty level, though I wont claim its perfectly level. Anybody seen this? Normal? Is it because my T bars might be cranked differently to level the truck under its own weight distribution?

Sorry that was so long, maybe I should start a build thread, but don't know if what I am doing really justifies another?

I will receive my heater T's and the ignition lock shaft this week, so those will be the next projects.

Did your flip key work? Transponder was too far away in my '04 for the flip key. :(
