Lost African, i like what you did with the speaker grilles. I'm going to try to find the dark taupe spray and do my center shifter console. I assume when you say you removed your sliders you meant to say running boards right? If you really removed your sliders, sell them to me

re-guderian - Yes the flip key works with the transponder just fine - have been using it for quite a while.

Muddy Bean - the Dark Taupe worked great. Its a Satin Enamel Rustoleum spray. There is also a darker brown color (forget the name I'm afraid - probably "Dark Brown" ) that might work really well for the center console, check that out too. Yes, I meant the running boards, and not the sliders...I am in the market for some sliders too. I'm going to look at who is doing what for Black Friday and maybe score a deal?

Did your flip key work? Transponder was too far away in my '04 for the flip key.

My 00 did NOT work. Any suggestions to get it to work?

LostAfrican, post up in the flip key thread (and here) how you got it to work. I tried. My next plan was to buy a rubber-headed valet key, cut/program it, and chop up the head to get the transponder to put in the slot in the front of the flip case.

That's an old trade secret from my sports car days when I was doing car shows.

I use a Dremel with a wire wheel to take off the top layer of grime/rust/yuck then it's one application of good old Testors model paint.

Yup. One small bottle of Testors ($1.79) did all four calipers. It holds up extremely well. I've used it on several "big brake" cars inclduing my RX-7 and Supra. The autocrossed the RX-7 and the paint held up to some serious heat stress.

Question: when I jacked up the LC in the center to do the power steering flush (using the right spot on the engine undercover), I noticed that my front wheels left the ground at different times, maybe even as much as an inch apart. The truck was in my shop which is pretty level, though I wont claim its perfectly level. Anybody seen this? Normal? Is it because my T bars might be cranked differently to level the truck under its own weight distribution?

I wire-wheeled and painted the front (#1) engine undercover too - and removed the foam sponge piece on the front. Most of the worst rust was near/under the sponge.

One tire leaving ground first is normal, while jacking from cross member. Next time try not jacking-up to do power steering fluid. I like using M1 full synthetic ATF when flushing transmission and steering pump, helps run quiet too.

I did skid plate too, and Toyota response in writing to my inquiry concerning foam most toss out:"The purpose for the foam is to act as a vibration absorber which then prevents unwanted noise and metal fatigue, which can lead to cracking of the skid plate." SEE: Is this necessary- Skid plate foam pad AKA Coolant Packing?

I also DE-rusted hidden spot under grill, then place one small silicon self-adhesive button under each side:

Ordered a drivers side swingout and reversing light kit for my rear ARB bumper. Also ordered a few of the oem switches with pigtails from Slee which fit the 100 series dash blanks.

After replacing the filter, vacuuming-out all the droppings, washing-off all the rodent-wiz, and cleaning the MAF, he started right up.

I love this beast.

So, I assume, the rodents made their exit prior to becoming part of his catalytic converter...

Was this on Saturday? Cause I hydroplaned as well, doing about 65mph going onto I-75 from I-285 west. Thankfully nobody was around because I started sliding on the ramp and went almost fully sideways before recovering the slide and taking up both lanes. I thought I was going to slide right off the road, flip, and die. Didn't soil myself though

Not sure why mine works, but I am glad. Its a snug fit when the key is in the lock, perhaps either the key body is different and places the transponder closer to the antenna, or, when Ace cut the blank they cut it higher on the shaft? Here're the people I bought it from on ebay:

Why thank you. I've learned over the years you can't wheel these trucks and have a form over function mind set. Using the 100 to crawl puts a lot of stress on components. Form isn't a concern anymore, it's all function.
