Yesterday morning headed out, truck was cold (well as cold as a truck can be in Atlanta in July) and...
- Backed out of the driveway, stopped, shifted to D, pushed the throttle... and went nowhere. Just...
This week's glitch: At startup, the system doesn't connect, it tries, then crashes, restarts, tries to connect - doesn't, then crashes, restarts, tries to connect - doesn't, then crashes, restarts, tries to connect - doesn't, then crashes...
One of the things that you've already done correctly - in my opinion - is making your base plates large and covering the body mounts. Most aftermarket "sport" cages don't even do that, so you're ahead of the game.
I really like where you're heading with the design. I like the 2nd version also.
But, I've only done a handful of cages. My general view has been: It will not be the absolute safest it can be... but it will be exponentially safer no cage. The...
@littlevulture I had a similar setup on a Jeep - a bike brake lever, on the trans shifter, as a hand throttle. It worked well for that poorly thought out build - a V8 with a lumpy cam and difs that needed to be regeared. For some reason, I burned...
Might be (am) stating the obvious here, but trucks sag over time and use. A 25-yr-old 5,700 lb truck with 200,000 miles is not going to be at the original ride height. I think this is part of the reason we've all see those reactions: "I installed...
Not directly truck related but I put a mini split in the shop the other day. It’s replacing a 50 year old natural gas mobile home furnace that’s on its last legs for winter heat and also gets me AC in the summer. It has a dehumidify mode I can...
Nope; they're just Tundra steel wheels - usually found under the bed as a spare. They're tough to find on the east coast - Tundra's got a different (5-point star) steel wheel over here. Idaho might be far enough West to make finding these easier.
There was also a fuel leak which confused the &#%@ out of diagnosing the leak... leaks. When I parked the truck in the garage it made the garage smell like being inside of a gas tank. Like, I really thought lighting a match might blow the roof...
Congrats on scoring a 100 in the best color ever offered. Okay sure, I'm a little biased.
While I'm a big fan of bronze wheels, your point about the gray accents kept me in the gray family - I didn't want to introduce a 4th color, i.e. garnet...
Funny you mention the smell. I was baffled as to what those lines were at first - because of the smell and the look/feel of whatever was coming off the line(s). It smelled more like gear oil... but that made no sense - our trucks don't have "gear...
I thought my Aisins looked fine. Dugan (owns ACC Garage) disagreed. Patty was there for something unrelated. Dugan said "Your hubs looked like crap and I was bored."
So, some media blasting, some powder coating, some paint, some new hardware...
This week my 2000 LC became a member of the 500,000 mile club.
It is all original. Engine, transmission, seats, even the windshield. Everything works, including the sunroof, and it is a pleasure to drive. This is my daily driver and I've owned...
