I mangled the other running board on the LX today  on a lame-ass drop into a wash, not even an obstacle

I am 2 for 2 on running boards and wheeling outings in the new-to-me LX now

that said, we went through pristine desert today so close to a major metropolitan area :D nobody out there

I better park the LX until I get some serious protection on it, or it will be a raisin in no time  :bang:

Don't park it! You just need to keep practicing............. oh, yeah, and bigger tires

hey, I just got those for the 40 - need to take test runs first

Got some new wheels and tires

94 with OME J's with 2" MetalTech front spacers

37x12.50's on 17's

I will start a build thread soon now that I have something decent to show

What kind of wheels? What brand tires?

Looks great!!

Pulled the propane truck uphill for a couple of miles on a very slippery road, the gas man was very impressed with the 80, I was more impressed with the skinny rope that pulled the truck.
I drove de 80 to the cabin afterwards...

I cheated and had my power steering pump rebuilt with an OEM kit. $400 out the door in a day. Saving my knuckles for front axle rebuild with breaks.

Douglas the 80 sounds very good. Nothing like a non leaking exhaust on these rigs.

Did some wheeling in the mountains Pennsylvania, got to stretch the legs with the new TJM longs all around.

Went on a stocker friendly club family run and saw Mattie Earps grave.
For some reason I enjoy finding graves at random places. It always makes me wonder why they were buried where they where.

Set out on a four-day camping trip with both sons, my buddy and his youngest son, and a friend of both younger boys. We had my LC, my son's Cherokee and my 4x6 trailer; my buddy like to take a LOT of stuff when he camps. But, on the other hand, he did fix steak, baked potatoes stuffed w/ onions, and squash and zucchini steamed in butter for dinner last night.

As we were leaving for a little trail riding today, we came to the one spot were we sort of had a signal. At about the same time that we found out that a storm the size of South Carolina was on top of us, it began to drizzle. Discretion being the better part of valor, we turned around, quickly packed up everything, in a now steady shower, and headed home a day early. Nevertheless, a good time was had by all!

Took the 80 on a couple of local trails with the family, dog, and my daughters friend (11) who had never been in the woods for a drive. It was great to expose her to the fun of 4Wheeling, where every little rock and frozen mud hole was a new adventure! I got to lock the axles and break through some ice. Crisp day in New England, but it felt great to get out.

Got a full size Baja rack from some local classifieds today. Also installed a solar pulse charger / maintainer with fused power distribution block.

The gray box by the fire wall on the DS is the box that controls everything. There is a solar panel I will post a pic up of if anyone wants to see it...

Full tune up with all the goodies (thanks beno). New valve cover gasket and fresh paint. Tested all my egr in the process and everything passed, but the 401 has not been cleared. I'm thinking the vsv must malfunction when hot. I ripped my intake tube in the process and ordered one from ems powered. Also did a cooling system flush and new heater valve.
Next round of maintenance will be radiator, water pump, fan clutch, front main. Oil pump oring and new belts. Just gotta replenish funds.
