Here are the Badlands in my part of the world.
a little duck and deer hunting in South Alabama.
The Forest Service (Grasslands) has restricted a lot of off-road travel in the area. There are a few area that are designated for Off road use. A trail sticker is also required for most areas if you are off the main roads. Most of it is pretty much impassible if there is any moisture.
Hey Bmac: Do you have any jackstands holding up the chassis in that pic? We want you around for years to come. If I am seeing this correctly (post #4508), please do not rely on the floor jacks to hold up the rig while you are under it. Apologies if I am seeing it wrong. Cheers, J
Nope... just floor jacks. Two heavy duty floor jacks but yeah just jacks. What do you use to support the truck when it's that high? My jack stands are nowhere near tall enough to reach the frame. I was putting in 6 inch lift springs so it had to get pretty high.
There's always this hybrid setup ;p
And yes, that log is ANSI/OSHA certified.

Hey All,
I took my 1996 FZJ80 up to Hungry Valley SVRA north of Los Angeles, off I-5 at Gorman. I highly recommend it as an intro to wheeling. I just got my rig in May, and I have done only a little off roading. This was my first time going out for a full day. It was a great time.
My vehicle is on 285/75's with the TJM 50mm progressive lift, otherwise stock with lockers. It performed brilliantly. One trail, Pronghorn, is reported to be too twisty for longer wheelbase rigs like the FJ80, but I did everything else in the park and loved it. I got a little happy on some bumps and my rear end hit kind of hard. My 2.5 gallon water container in back got airborne and exploded in the rear storage area. No harm, no foul, my carpeting is drying in my garage as I write this.
