Ran (didn’t walk) to Santa Fe, NM to snag these Dobinsons drawers for my 80. Big thanks to Sam @swhme for the trade. Shimmed the base up a 1/2” so the drawer latch doesn’t drag the tailgate. Trimmed the driver’s side wings to fit. Love these so much.

Picked up my rig from @Cruisers and Co while at the Overland Expo Mtn. West event!

Keeping @shellb's "Rosie" company!

Engine sourced from @Fj80oregon and installed by @Cruisers and Co along with their new turbo setup, custom A-pillar gauges, new SS exhaust, new wiring harness and a whole lot of other parts. Quality installation throughout and they really brought some new life into my old Dawg! Thanks Johnny, Ryan, and their entire team!

Paul it was so great meeting you this weekend and am stoked you were able to let us show it off and pick it up at Overland Expo MTN West!

Why did you delete it? Cover the tape with Flextape and spray your underside (which you should do anyway) with FluidFilm. I've kept my 80 in great condition using it here in salty Minnesota. Moving out of here would be the best solution. 😜
For the amount of heat it puts out, it wasn’t worth keeping. Those hoses underneath were rock hard and ready to start leaking. Just one more potential failure point that is eliminated. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Available from Delta

It gets a bit too hot from the exhaust in that area for a print. Keep the ideas coming.

The heat build up concerned me as well. The exhaust runs right past this area and the heat shield doesn’t quite cover. Gorilla tape is great but only for a temporary solution. I like that Delta plate….its all about the personal details. Some archeologists will find it thousands of years from now and no doubt be in awe and wonder…..and still looking up at it. 😆

Thanks.

Acceleration from a dead stop is basically the same, so not going to win any 0-60 races, but that's not what it's designed for. Instead, you now get a truck that can not only keep up with traffic on a long mountain inclines, you can actually pass people already going at high speeds. Since I am also breaking in a new engine as well, I didn't exercise the new setup too much, but it was cool when I needed to. The LC now pulls like a freight train at speed, and cruising at higher speeds is no problem especially at higher elevations too (CO and NM where I am at 5000-12000 ft. most of the time). The turbo just makes the LC so much more enjoyable and drivable, but having the confidence to accelerate with a sense of urgency from any speed once moving is a whole new experience.

Hey Johnny, was a great time and so glad I got to meet the rest of your team! Again, so pleased with the quality workmanship and attention to detail. Looking forward to my next visit!

Thanks.

That must be heaven! ❤️

Not all this weekend but got her home (nice to be in an 80 again!)

Started getting the interior clean. Pressure washer on the carpet, extractor on the seats and dry vapour steamer on pretty much everything else. Also got a haul of parts delivered 🎉
So far with @Indestructible 47 help installed new blue hub with 50ml of 10000 cst oil to replace some aftermarket that was mediocre at best, replaced drive flanges (much less backlash in driveline), replaced PO's incorrect size front driveshaft hardware with OE, replaced some blown dash lights, removed the PO's lacklustre LED spotlights and got some FYRLYTS installed and a thorough clean and degrease of the engine bay and underbody. Will need oil pump O-ring at least, maybe oil pan reseal or rear main as well.

My wife had me order my birthday gift and this is what I got. It is set to arrive today, apparently there is some assembly required but okay with that. I am sure it helps keep the shipping cost down.

Busy weekend -

Delta 3L radius arms, stainless brake lines, 3" Dobinsons springs up front, Delta rear panhard bracket, and new wheels and tires.

I see you are in Utah, but just FYI I used the same exhaust flex joint and here in North Carolina the road salt ate that thing up in one winter. Replaced it and it was gone again in another year and a half.
