Finally installed my new ARB bumper. Need to take it back off and install the M12000 when I finish rebuilding it. Next up is sliders and a rear bumper.

Be aware the front eyes are not strong enough for recovery...

Took advantage of the long weekend to do a few maintenance related items. I had 17 things on my list and knocked out 15 of them. Mostly very small items. While she was sitting in the garage I noticed 2 small drips. One from the front and one from the rear. The rear leak was the LSPV. The inner O rings had basically died. I did the mod suggested by @excessive . Leak has stopped so hopefully all Is good now.

There is an O ring where the hard line mates with the power steering pump. I swapped the O ring with a replacement and all is good.

On the good side of things I upgraded my @NLXTACY air coupler to a new version with the Anderson SB 50 electrical connector. My portable solar panel and battery charger now have the anderson connectors so this makes thing real simple.

One weird thing I did notice was with one of my tires. These are Cooper ST Pro Discoverers. Notice how the tread is somewhat scalloped, Any idea what causes this?

Also out of balance can cause this as well.

The tire was on the back passenger side. Would balance be a big issue on a rear wheel?

Had that happen to just one wheel on my f250 and it was bc the shock had gone bad. Not saying that’s for sure what it is, could be any of the suggestions. But that’s what happened to me.

Met @azngarage yesterday in Fish Camp. He stopped to chat when I was airing up the tires. Today, we met up for a little snow wheeling. It was a great time, and always nice to meet other Landcruiser enthusiasts.

It was nasty, wet snow, but fun nonetheless.

Had to winch the front end around, then we took turns yanking on the recovery strap.

He almost got it turned around, unassisted.

It was a great time!

Yes, all the replies about this have been accurate. A worn shock or an out of balance tire & wheel will allow the tire to "tramp" going down the road. Basically, it's wearing more in some spots because it doesn't hit the road evenly.

It dosnt look too bad to me at all. If you run it the opposite direction (other side of the truck), it should flatten back out.

If it’s happening to all 4 then they just need to be rotated more often, if it’s just one then it’s likely out of balance, or the shock is bad, or something specific to that corner.

Both front corner marker lights were out since I bought her jn August. Replaced with LEDs.

The STT Pros had horrible wear characteristics on my truck. I had alignment checked a few times, played with different tire pressures but they were horrible. They were well balanced, and shocks were in good condition. Won't ever buy those tires again. They're a good looking tire but the wear characteristics make them incredibly loud and rough long before you would normally replace them. Then if you try to sell them, you can't get a decent price because of how they have worn. Waste of money IMO.

I've had my Toyo MT's for more miles than I did the STT Pro and the wear has been very even without any change to alignment, tire pressure habits etc. Confirmed to me that the STT Pro just doesn't wear well.

I think I am leaning this way also. I have unlimited balance and alignment and have had both checked 2 or 3 times this year. My shocks are 2 years old. I might be looking at replacing the STT's before long.

Spent the holiday weekend with family in Idaho. Instead of driving myself to suicide by shopping on Black Friday, we drove ourselves to the hills to cut a Christmas tree. Much better! We've done this a few times now when we've been in Idaho for Thanksgiving. We've found that shrink wrapping the tree keeps it in the best condition for the 3.5 hr drive back to Utah. It's up in the house now, just need to decorate.
