Oh yea, and re: resetting and clearing the old codes - I do unplug that 15 amp EFI fuse after repairs (I believe I actually learned that from you on a separate thread while hunting for solutions to a different problem lol!), but still ultimately...

@ZackR brought up an excellent point. Anytime you're working under the hood, even for a simple tuneup, best practice is to remove the 15 amp EFI fuse in the relay box on the left fender. That's FUSE not relay (circled in blue). Less invasive than...

Hey Zack, thanks for the input! So I haven’t run through the actual tests to see if the IACV is running through all the steps properly. For that part, I’ve just assumed it was working properly due to hearing the clicks when shutting off the...

Did you test the idle control valve after cleaning it and the passage (run through all of the little steps from open to close)? How about the throttle position sensor adjustment (with a voltmeter)? Have you disconnected the battery to reset the...

A battery that has dropped to 2V has been permanently destroyed. Even if it can charged it's not going to be a reliable battery. Start with a new battery then test the alternator.

First real trip since the rebuild and 5 speed! Ran great, the motor feels healthy and pulls really well. Installed an AFR gauge as well prior to the trip and ran exactly how it should under boost. Have some kinks to work out, (primarily gear oil...

Definitely replace the rubber pipe that runs from maf to throttle body/intake, the one showing the cracking in your photos. If it's not already letting in unmetered air it soon will be and it's likely to open up/break whenever the air filter is...

I'd recommend removing the whole transmission wiring harness. Once its on the workbench it'll be a lot easier to repair. I pulled mine years ago due to a CDL that wouldn't work correctly and cleaned it all up, fixed damaged wiring, re loomed the...

80 with the 14' Mad River at a put-in on the Pea River. This was a fun spot, a short trail through the woods that required dealing with a few mud holes. I lost the driver side mud flap when I got sucked into the deep slop of the large mud hole.
