I had to find a foreigner to find someone that didn’t complain about peeing in the woods (desert). One of our first dates was a spur of the moment tram ride and hike up San Jacinto Mt. She had no problem finding a bush to go behind even with no TP. A keeper.

So I’m on wife 2.0 and as much as I would like a wife 3.0 getting wife 3.0 might mean I have to share my kids, that’s a big no no so just gonna have to work with the 2.0.
Ever so often I get floppy vents on the 80. They do not stick and stay and it can be annoying. I came up with a solution that works really well on and off road.
You can see in some of these photos that the floppy vent is caused by these posts breaking off, and the best way I've found to remedy this is to replace the posts with sheet metal screws. I'm sure other screws will work, I've just had these on hand.
First I remove the dash pieces and get em on the workbench.
Disassembly is pretty straightforward, just a couple brittle tabs to be careful about

From here, drill a pilot hole in the vent grill (?) and screw in the screws for a semi-firm friction fit. The bit you use pretty much correlates directly with your screws and on this brittle plastic I hold the bit against the screw and ensure " just a little" thread shows. Scientific, I know.

Once the RTV cures you can thread the screws right on through without a pilot hole.

Though I know stills prove nothing these have held up really well. ~12k on the first batch I did, I might have done 3k on these with the RTV.

Upgraded my ARB snatch strap to 24,000lbs from 17,500. Now all my recovery gear in rated at a minimum 24,000lbs.

Stores in the same place as the 17,500 strap without taken up any more space but still easy and fast to get to if needed

Retired the ARB 17,500 to the LX470
FWIW - ARB snatch strap has some of the best test results of any snatch strap well in excess of its rated 17,500
Stores in the same place as the 17,500 strap without taken up any more space but still easy and fast to get to if needed

Rebuilt knuckles after clicking and upgraded to RCV 30 splines but didn't know I had to move the ABS tone rings over and now i'm greeted with ABS light. Oh well...
That’s a lot of work for a penny...
