dang, sounds like a great trip. How many miles ? All the creeks around here are about dry. I’m pretty sure I’m in the wrong profession

Will be a great trip. Distance is about 25 miles. Spreading it over 3 days to avoid rushing it. Weather is looking good, hot with low chance of rain.

Later this summer I’ll be on a lot of streams where we’ll be dragging boats.

25 miles in three days?? Are you going back and forth three times?
:D
Need any more paddlers? I could use a good canoe trip.

OME light/medium kit finally installed and some new 285/75/16 Toyo open country RT.

@dffj6288 A little late, a realize but maybe next time!

...for bushing removal made easy.

We had an argument. I'm trying to save money and she just keeps "needing" more and more. It's like I can never provide her with enough shiny new o-rings, fresh oil, and grease. She's gotta have new cats and smog pumps and pulleys and suspensions and tires and brakes and.... tools... do I have to go on about her tools?! She just keeps nagging every time I try to show her how much I really do care. I mean doesn't she understand that I've been obsessing over her? She's constantly on my mind. I can't eat. I can't sleep. I've stopped shaving and my hair is turning grey... I've read every FSM and self help threads on this forum. I have even made an agreement for us to take a break for the summer so I can work on things. Maybe she doesn't like that I'm riding a bike everywhere... it's not like we agreed to see other people, but maybe she just doesn't want to stay in this relationship....:bang:

Try looking at a younger model, she'll come around.

I’ve said it before at my local Napa, “mine likes to see me on my knees.” It was followed by uproarious laughter.

Pics comming (i keep say that!)

Over the course of the weekend
Put the Dobinson rear bumper on
Wired up the MG alternator and put in a mega fuse (custom made the wires myself)
Put on the belts.
Filled the PS
Filled the coolant system
Replaced a bunch of ground wires with some custom made ones
Installed the steering components (all new stuff!!)
Did a garage alignment (super easy and far from my first time)
Put the battery in permanently for the first time in a year!
Mounted the winch
Started the install for the radio (pulled wire)
Pull wire for the rear power outlet
Looked at the Air Conditioning unit and decided while the compressor is dirty there is pressure in the system (just low) I decided to risk it and see if it will run, tested the clutch and it does engage. If it will not then i will replace the whole system (staying R12)
Changed the fuel pump
Changed the fuel filter
Changed the PCV
Mounted the air cleaner for the first time in a year.

Been a long hard weekend.

What is left?
Still some body work
A new windshield
All wiring (rear bumper lights, hella fogs, bumper driving lights, acc ports, radio and speakers)

My trip was canceled for this summer and just some weekend stuff planned now, so more time to finish the body work.

Seriously you must move like lightening. I don’t get how you get all that done in a few days.
Also... the compressor, did you just hook it up to a battery to test? I’ve been pondering reinstalling mine but it’s a grimy mess that’s been tucked away in a box in the garage for months, maybe a year.

Not like lightening but they are long days just working on the cruiser in the garage at home. I have a piece of cardboard on the wall with a list of everything that needs to be done. I scratch them off as I go.

As for the AC clutch test i used this thread
How to test a AC compressor

I am not sure if the compressor even works and I am debating if I want to go down the road of pulling all apart to change the compressor. I would have to then do everything (I have all of the parts) I figure 1 can of R12 for a test to see if it spins up and works is worth the hassle.
Pulling out the condenser, evaporator and compressor and then vacuum and refill, well just might be worth the hassle.
Pulling the Evap is the part that is making me question.

Ah. Still, seems your very fast or highly organized! I had pulled everything so reinstall would be wenchy. And the condenser was junk. I found it oneockauto but got quickly overwhelmed by all the seals ect I might need.

Whew, it's been a busy weekend. I'm gearing up for a big 2K+ mile road trip next week out to my ancestral homelands in Winifred, Montana and my cruiser was needing some love.

Started out with some small stuff like replacing the seals on the front doors and inner front windows, as well as the broken front amber indicator lights. Piece of cake!

Then I decided my steering wasn't good enough so I adjusted my toe-in to 1*. First time doing this and the hardest part was remembering formulas from my highschool trig class. It's definitely driving better now, though the drag link still isn't adjusted to be totally square.

Then my new ARB bumper arrived! Removing the rusty bolts holding on the OE chrome bumper and the bull bar that the PO installed required some seriously medieval treatment from the angle grinder, sawzall, and air chisel. I guess I got carried away because I also removed the outriggers, which was riveted on to the frame. Oh well, it gave me a chance to paint them with a rattlecan and install some stainless steel bolts instead!

If that wasn't enough for one weekend, I decided to go ahead and replace my galley plug. This was pretty intimidating at first because I've never used a thread tapper before, but that turned out to be easier than all the other crap that needed to be tracked down from the hardware store or removed from the engine bay just to start this project.

Changed the bumper.. it came with the bench and i hated it. So i took that off a while ago and have had no front bumper. It bolts up pretty well might need a spacer to level it

I believe that is a factory suspension seat frame. Not a US market offering, being from Canada may explain it. HDJ61 JDM has a VX designation so maybe they were swapped in.
