Hell yah.. Spend 3 days there.. but you really need at least a week to explore.... it's not just a few peaks... they go for miles and miles... It truly is an spectacular place...!!!

Frank you weren't too far from our property in Golden there. We fell in love with it years ago.

Pulled both swing outs off the rear bumper. I really had no need for a ladder on one side, and while the spare tire I didn't mind, it fits just fine back under the truck. It's reversible if I want to change it back, but for now it'll be much easier to use the rear cargo area without them.

Yea I don't like the tire stuffed under the truck, but it sure is a space saver. I don't have a cool rear bumper but always envisioned having a convertible/removable tire carrier for when you want/don't want to have it back there.
The truck 'looks' more lifted when the spare is not underneath.

Actually it looks like taking the swing outs off raised the truck up in the back a bit in itself. The 2 together have to weigh close to 75lbs I'd imagine. I'll probably end up dragging the tire over everything when I off road, but I'll just be careful until I'm used to it being there.

Converted some rust. I just received @dnp carpet set and proceeded to tear out the old and found the back of my bench had quite a bit of flash rust on it. Picked up some of the new eco=converter stuff that is water based and doesn't smell like a chemistry set. Worked rather well. More pictures as I get the carpet in.

Going to hit it again and get a little more of the creases.

Hey, when you're retired every day is a weekend, so here goes.

With the help of my youngest son removed the 3FE from the engine stand for the first time since its rebuild (February 2016). It's now on the engine hoist and ready for installation into the '86 FJ60 project vehicle tomorrow morning at first light. Here are some photos:

The freshly cleaned and painted 3F bell housing (VHT high temperature engine enamel, satin black inside and cast iron outside, baked under two brooder lamps for 8 or 9 hours.

The 3FE safely tucked away for the night.

Here's how the bellhousing is supported until I wrap up rebuilding the '89 FJ62's split transfer case (will be converted to manual front drive engagement) onto the back of the new H55f:

Why would you not install the flywheel and clutch in the garage? You're missing the pilot bearing as well.

Mostly schedule coordination with my son. Besides, now I'm ready for an early Festivus celebration and the requisite demonstration of "Feats of Strength". And with the lift I've got plenty of working room under there.
