While doing an Internet search for my radiator support seal installation question yesterday I stumbled on an easy FJ60 upgrade I was completely unaware of - the FJ62 front door jamb moulding (both sides of vehicle) has additional weatherstripping not used on the FJ60s. Sure enough, I went out last night to take a look at my '89 FJ62 and '86 FJ60 parked side by side in the driveway - confirmed. I've owned my '84 FJ60 since new and my '89 FJ62 for almost 15 years and never noticed a difference.
Because the FJ62 is the donor for my 3FE transplant into my '86 FJ60 project, that's one more thing to swap over. It seems like most everything will be moved over - axles, wiring harness, power mirrors/windows/door looks, fuel system, exhaust system, fuel door release cable, power steering gearbox, steering column, transfer case, windshield wiper motor/linkage, emissions, brakes, dashboard, door cards, rear cargo panels, rear seat belts, etc. No wonder it's taking me forever to complete my project

. But one way to look at it - I'll pretty much know the FJ60 and FJ62 inside out when I'm finally done.
