Worked on installing @orangefj45 saginaw kit today.

This was replacing my home brew bracket which was a weld-less set-up and I'm sure I didn't execute it as well as it could have been.

None the less spent some time while I was in there and worked on getting my 2F alt to fit below as a dual alt set-up. Its a work in progress.

Inspiration for the project:
FJ60 Dual Alternator

Very cool @NookShneer ! Isn't it awesome how you can mix and match the front accessory drives of these motors? I plan on the same setup, Saginaw pump and dual alternators, but my alternators will put out a bit more juice :grinpimp:

Thinking along these same lines. Wanna see what you come up with.

They've both been done before just not at the same time on a 3FE to my knowledge so the only thing I should have to figure out is what belt to use.

Highly recommend using some
3M Scotch 414/DC tape...

Their LED's are awesome...!!

Do you mean in addition to the little aluminum angle brackets covered in sticky adhesive tape that is the mounting system for these lights?

After 9 months and doing other projects, I officially restarted the Frankenstein build. Have to paint the doors, install headliner/glass, then the rest is downhill! At least I hope so :)

Yes, that adhesive tape will come off on either really hot, or cold weather......
I took that off and used the 3M stuff......

Ok, good to know, thanks for the info!!

Hit up our local cars and coffee and got to see a right hand drive bj62? See minute 1:29 in the video. Or maybe an hj61? First time I've seen on in person. It was cool. And for sale if anyone is interested.

Anyone's here?

Also a neat well built and capable fj40 that I'm not sure who the owner is. Had a tlca sticker. Around 1:12 min in the video

Missed my ONSC brothers, cause I showed up late, but still got to see some neat cars/trucks. Still trying to figure out how best to edit these dad-production videos.

Ripped out the steering column assembly to get at the upper U-joint by the firewall.... I may have gone a little nuts with this steering refresh project.

View attachment 1347270 Well it was actually last weekend, the weekend befor that, and all week in between, but I took my 60 to Death Valley (and back ). While off-roading in DV the welds holding the front Pside shackle mount to the frame failed. Wheeled it ~40 miles that way, eventually resorting to ratchet straps to sorta secure it, before getting out to civilization and finding a welder at the Panamint Springs resort. Co-owner Aaron saved the trip. Really good guy.

Been there, done that, let someone that unlike me welds stuff and it stays stuck together weld it.

Finished up the front fender trimming well 95.9% anyway. Finished enough to go riding this weekend!

Couple weekends ago I finally got pissed off enough at the drivers side window tinting being so faded and hazy... It was peeling at the edges and genuinely so scratched and faded that in the morning when leaving for work it was hard to see out (I leave about 5:45am). So I pulled it with a heatgun, razor, some goo gone and elbow grease. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!

So fast forward to yesterday and I had some time to piddle around on the cruiser. I decided that all the tint needed to come off as most of it was cracked and had peeled around the corners. Took me about 2hrs to do this with the heat gun and everything but holy hell is everything BRIGHT now. Was somewhat funny as the wife had me run to the store right after I finished up and when I left the house I initially thought that I still had the rear gates open because it was so bright inside.

The one MAJOR benefit to doing this was that I found multiple breaks in my defroster grid which has not worked in a couple years. So now on to attempting to fix that and if that doesn't work then looking at one of the FrostFighter upgrades like I had some time ago.
