Thanks man. Yea all the pictures I didn’t take are the cruise control wiring I haven’t connected yet. I ran them through the firewall & they are sitting under the pedals currently. Below is my to-do list, gonna get things running first, then hook up cruise control.

I bought an additional brake switch to put on my clutch pedal for CPP signal. Got a micro switch to add to the brake for the TCC. Chased a wire for the CHMSL wire. Then plan to route the cruise on, cruise set, cruise accel wires to switches.

But for Noe that’s all future Kevin problems

Well, today was successful! The house A/C froze over again today….i know I’m on borrowed time, going to add some Freon to it tomorrow. I sliced my fingers on the air filter (of all things) trying to remove it & thaw things out…..

After work, that thing thawed and restarted, it was back to work on the cruiser. I got the O2 sensors mounted, exhaust manifold collector gaskets installed, antifreeze & power steering fluids added.
I put aluminum heat wrap on the factory fuel lines on the frame (since the Y-pipe gets close).

I hooked up the battery, pulled the fuel fuse & cranked it to check for oil pressure, then put it in and fired it up.

It started right up and idled fine, but I found my number 4 fuel injector is leaking, looks like it’s from the fuel rail side. I have o-rings that came with the gasket set, so I’ll pull the fuel rail tomorrow & see what’s what.

I still need to finalize the air intake/ MAF sensor, but things are starting to shape up!

The other day I bit the bullet and paid $43 at the local Chevrolet dealer for the OEM fuel injector seal kit. I figure that’s cheaper than the vehicle catching on fire….

Replaced them, then bleed the coolant system… And by bleed the system I mean I added 1.5 more gallons through the steam port, since the radiator cap fill neck wasn’t getting it back there & the thermostat didn’t seem to have enough heat to cycle.

All topped off and good to go.

I called Dakota digital & got the tach straightened out. I had the SGI-100BT converting 8 to 6 & it should be 4 to 6 cyl (since the ECM only reports 1 bank to the tach. Really nice & great tech support over there as usual!

I figured out that battery light (low voltage) the Y-W wire from the alternator needs grounded (by a failed alternator) to light up the light…currently disconnected.

Now to seal & charge the A/C & finalize the air intake to the MAF & factory airbox/ snorkel kit.

Today I re wrapped the main wiring harness back up and put the interior back together. I put my old dash in for now, but plan to swap it out with one I bought that isn't cracked (I haven't picked it up yet). Kick pannels and glove box all back in as well. I have a few wires that I may or may not use. We'll see.

I also spent a good amount of time adapting the stock airbox for the LS. I cut the center out from the inside and cleared it for my 4" exhaust coupler I plan to use. I cut the coupler down to an appropriate size.

Heres the oriiginal center part the Air valve used to bolt to. And beside it is my exhaust couplervtrimmed down.

I plan to use a 4" silicone coupler to attach the piping to the LS.

Heres the final product, I am planning to find some black hose clamps or something, since there are so many in a short run, but I was able to use a 3.75" elbow fromt he throttle body to the MAF, then a step up coupler from the MAF, up to 4" to a 45 degree, then the 90 into the airbox.

Next was A/C, when I hooked the vacuum pump up I realized my manifold guages were leaking, and I couldn't see a fix, so I borrowed my neighbors. It drew a vacuum and held it for 20-30 minutes, so I added some oil and -134A. I had one leak at one of my crimp fittings, but it stopped.... I was going to drain it and redo the fitting, but it was cycling and running fine. not sure if it was residual from the Connector leaking on the first set of gauges or what...but I will wait until it leaks down to do anything with it.

I took it for 2 test drives and the A/C was blowing cold, I will keep an eye on it.

I heated and bent the gas pedal to provide a little more clearance, it may need just a tad more if I am using a floor mat, but it was a big improvement.

I keep getting a DTC. P0651 on almost every start for "Sensor Reference Voltage B open Circuit" But no sensors are failing and it doesn't have any associated codes for other sensors. I may unplug the computer and check everything then plug it back in to see if that helps.

Otherwise, It seems to be a running driving cruiser again!!!!

I took the wife and dog on a quick ice cream trip last night. So far so good:

• the A/C is running good for now, I’ll keep an eye on it.

• The throw out bearing is making a little noise when engaging the clutch pedal, but it feels correct. I have to drop the exhaust to pull the inspection cover. I’m going to drive a little more & read up on threads posted about the Marks Off-road conversion. Mostly I’ve just seen posts of people that didn’t adjust them correctly

…..I’m hoping it just goes away, as there’s not much I can do but adjust it or replace it.

My throw out bearing makes the same noise, I think I need to adjust the collar on the marks adapter out some more so there’s constant pressure on it. My exhaust is also run underneath the inspection cover so I’ve just been putting it off, but it’s done it the whole time I’ve had my truck on the road again. I think @JoeW also has the same problem with his.

Yep, same noise on mine. Idk how well I adjusted my bearing to be honest, it's been working fine for this long so it's on the back burner currently.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the input, glad I'm not alone. I know the directions were oddly specific and vague enough to give me a good starting point as I bolted it together....The pedal feel, travel, and function. (friction point) all feel good, so I probably wont adjust anything for now.

Thanks, it felt both fast and slow at times....the vacations and work trips didn't help the progress, but I did have a few weekends with no plans and things to get done. I think the part ordering/ arrival worked out well, and I didn't sit waiting on parts. Theres always something you can be doing thought, so if I needed to wait on parts, I could just pivot and start tinkering with something else.

My black hose clamps arrived for the intake, I think it just cleans things up a bit. I need to do a final run through and put clamps and ties on some of the wire harness to make it look a little cleaner.

I also need to pull the steering shaft off the box and move it over a few splines, I didn't get it back on as straight as I thought.

Also random, but I have never opened up the ARB canopy, so I finally set it up for a few minutes to check it out. Similar to a smilttybilt I have owned but just a little better quality overall. The shade didn't really help though...its still been 95 degrees and 70-80% humidity...so you just feel moist at all times....

My A/C parts should arrive tomorrow, so I am hoping to crimp a new low pressure hose end on and charge it back up.

Time is once again scarce, I just got back from a work trip that turned into two trips…. Unfortunately I was stuck in Hawaii for 10days …rough life. Didn’t see @Aloha Jen & her 60 cruising around anywhere .

I was able to come home for 24hrs and work on the cruiser before going straight into our family beach vacation this week.

I had left off with a leak in the A/C system & ordered parts.

The Engine is running great but has those 3 codes
P0651 (5V reference)
P0332 (knock sensor 2 bank 2 low input)
P0327 (knock sensor 1 bank 1 low input)

I took the multimeter through all the wiring harness checking for short, ground, continuity, checked the resistance on all the sensors…everything checks good. I bought another set of OEM knock sensors & pulled the intake off, swapped them out and investigated…

lots of info on LS1 tech about people buying knockoff or just bad parts, so I’m hopeful this makes it go away. The first set I bought were OEM, but I figured I’d try again.

I also bought new O2 sensors, I had mismatched used ones, so I figured now’s the time….so I dropped the Y-pipe to replace them, and dropped the inspection cover to look at the throw out bearing…everything looks great, but I put a little more grease in there.

To those of you that recommended the v-band, clamps thanks! It sure makes this much easier, and the fact that I put one in the y-pipe makes it pretty easy to take off.

Here’s a look at the O2 sensors…no codes, but the readings we’re looking a little mismatched between bank 1 & 2…

Also I see why @cruisermatt isn’t too fond of these LS swap header collector o-rings, one use and they’re done….i already used my backup set

Hoping to dig in a little more this weekend & see how things go. Should have time to put the A/C system back together.
