i will be running the wires to the rear console in case the owner wishes to install the 6X9s into the cut outs. marked and ready to play, no need to pull the front console to make it happen.

a mess

cleaner

need to wait for the wire looms, antenna extension and then finish the sound deadner and install.

Dan,
no, i never get tired of compliments. I am getting anxious to see it completed and delivered, my other work is now months behind. Thankfully i have understanding customers, including the owner of this one.

but

i want it to turn out the best of MY ability and that takes time. it would be sad to start cutting corners this late in the build.

that is it for today on the front console ...

looks acceptable, i hope it looks good installed...

I will never allow you to check my pseudo " installations and builds " have no idea what you gonna said about 'em .. :hillbilly:

nah, not fishing for compliments ... it looks okay and works with the room i have to use.
i think i like this look better than PC it white, it will be quieter with the mat installed.

but

it does kinda look like a piece of luggage to me.

of course it might be i am tired and maybe just too critical.

test fit
acceptable, i designed it for the visors to lay flat onto the bottom of the console but the 6X9 speakers sit about a 1/2" down so they now sit on an angle.
liveable - yes :meh:
happy - not really
i could have done better. :o

Some spacers under the outboard attachment points of the visors would likely let them rotate up flat. Not that I'm qualified to be giving you suggestions :D

suggestions are appreciated
sadly, the mounting points are half under the console. i might look at mounting them to the console itself and see what happens.
thanks

Is there enough height to mount the 6x9s inside the over head consol so the sun visors can sit flat again . maybe some mesh size 7x10, same gauge as the original speaker covers paint it black and from the inside, sit this over the orignal speaker hole
So from bottom to top you would have sunvisor then shelf then mesh then speaker.

Or do what most over head consol have here in Aus and mount the vison to the consol, just test before you cut or mount ,i have seen one mounted to the consol and it somehow lost the ability to rotate the visor around to the door glass

actually a solution came to my sick mind.
i pulled the arm off the visor and took it to a machine shop. they are going to replicate the arm with a 1" drop so the visor will sit flat onto the speaker.

there is not enough room to mount the speaker inside the console, i looked at that.
i tried putting the visor onto the console but no change was the result.

i will give this a try and ... to me ... it seems like it will work.
