Also, what vehicles of your shop will be at SEMA this year? I'll be there again, and would love to see your work! I live local to SEMA if you'd like to see my 2UZ project as well.
 
aqualu does frames as well, I've used them before, super heavy and can be ordered bare or prefabbed for springs and such. If you were going to go to the trouble of ordering aqualu stuff.

I would just stretch the 40 wheel base as needed, probably going to need some beefed up domestic axles anyways.
 
Did you guys have the stretched 45 at SEMA last year? (the non chrome or Redline one that is)
 
I'd say either an H55F or an R151 with a split case behind it would be your best bet. I have both those units at the shop if you want/need some pics, measurements, .......

What aftermarket ECU are you using?

He used an AEM unit on his last 3ur build that went into a lexus sc430. Since he made that work once I'm sure he'll do it again.

The aftermarket ECU will not require any feedback from the Trans or wheels speed sensors.

ya it was pretty ambitious, but he'd done something very similar already, so it must be a money or project priority keeping him from funding it. I'm holding out for an update....if you post it, they will come.....

Hey Guys,

Sorry for the delays. I have decided to source another FJ40 for the swap. It is being shipped here now. The blue one has matching numbers and runs so we don't want to mess with that. As soon as the new setup arrives I will be certain to post photos. It took a long time to find something that wasn't all rusted out. So I want to be clear. This will be the 3URFE w/TRD supercharger, full stand alone ECU mated to the factory trans. If it can handle 350 V8 power we should be ok. I'm not trying to make 600hp with this just the 505hp that it should make not problem. If the trans can't handle it I will engineer something else. I have had several guys offer me big money on the SC and man I could use it being a father of 3 girls. That being said I am staying the course and making this thing happen. Like many of you the FJ40 is awesome and the TRD Supercharger mated to the Tundra 5.7 is bad ass. It will have some awesome Long Tube Headers and a 4" suspension lift. I can't wait! Hey Jetranger, I got the 3UR working on the Tundra motor with the factory trans mated. It was a pain and a bunch of extra wiring.
