I spent a ton of money modifying my 4BT for additional power... and then... and then... and then I turned it all back down because fixing broken stuff all the time wasn't worth the power...
A little bit extra goes a long way! YMMV....
Same here. I don’t want the hassle either. I’m thinking 180-200bhp. That won’t push any limits and seems to be the sweet spot where modifications are concerned. Some have pushed that little motor to 300+. Sure would be fun, but reliability would go out the window.

If you have already try reaching out to @Godfather90. He seems pretty happy with his TDI in his 40. I think he has it turned up a bit…
Thank you very much for that.

Will definitely get in touch with him.

Oof... back to work today... lol.

Hope that you all have had a good Monday.

So, the adapter kit that I bought for the swap will accommodate Zeke's H42. As I don't yet own an H55... and don't need it to do the swap, my budget just got cut down big time. The H55 (and new t-case) will come along in time.

And, now I'm the hunt for an 1.9 TDI (ALH). That's going to be fun.

At this point... I'd just like one dang day to get some cutting and welding done on the old boy. Looks like it's back to weekends for the fun stuff.

Cheers, everyone.

Started acid bathing some
Bits and pieces this weekend. Flash rust here stinks!

Need a few more gallons of rust dissolver to fill up a big old plastic tub. Need to submerge those fender flares (and a couple couple more) in preparation for fixing the rear flares on Zeke.

Adapter kit showed up. It is beautifully machined.

Stand alone wiring harness is being built this weekend. Should ship
Out on Wednesday or Thursday.

Here’s the wiring harness. It comes with an ecu that has the immobilizer deactivated.

Dude is up Pontiac, MI

Recipe for Evaporust. For 1000ml water. Add 100g Citric acid. dissolve completely. Add 40g of washing soda (Sodium Carbonate) This will produce a reaction. After the reaction subsides add 50ml dish soap or Simple Green (Surfactant) as a wetting agent. You can find all these ingredients at Walmart. Look in the canning section for the Citric acid powder.

I like these spray bottles..

Thank you for that! I've already got all of the ingredients (citric acid for canning and such). I'll mix up a bunch of it and get a bath going. Really appreciate the info.
