My Dad came over and helped today, we got quite a bit done:
Pulled out all of the old heating lines.
Heater control valve was toooooooooast,

Got the PHH removed, and a replacement installed. (no trivial feat)

We evaluated the hard lines for the rear heat, and are going to bypass them, pretty rusty in multiple places.

That valve was gonna blow! Great work! Is super cool you can work on your cruiser with your dad. Enjoy that!

DM Land Cruiser Phil directly. He may have some laying around or tell you when he thinks they'll be back in stock.

Is it a bad idea to put antiseize on the block coolant drain plug?
Getting the original one out induced some high pucker factor noises

Did a little testing fitting of some plywood for the sleeping platform.
Unfortunately, the piece I had in my garage was not as wide as I would have liked (goal 55", actual 46")
(I would like to avoid buying plywood at these prices :( )

For reference, the silver outlines on top of the drawers are about the width of a sleeping pad (thermorest) and I would likely have a cooler in the bottom left quadrant, me in the 2 right ones, and 1X 55LB dog in the upper left quadrant.
Thinking of just using the centered layout for now.

This is that piece:
Furthest to the right:

I just picked one up from Phil a month ago 🤷‍♂️

Well that's about how long I've been looking. His site says out of stock.

Wits end says maybe end of this month

When I got the LC back from the trans shop the rear heater was leaking. I've got a temp fix on

I didn't say the god damn hose was unobtainable. I said both vendors that sell complete kits have been out of stock.

I can send you some 5/8 hose :flipoff2: :flipoff2::flipoff2:

Did I say I was unable to build the kit man?

It was suggested to buy a kit from a vendor. I stated both vendors are out of stock. I said nothing more than that.

Pretty big day working on the Cruiser, and various other adventures.

9:15 AM.
Finally after playing phone tag and missing meeting up with the PO (2x), finally got the jerry can holder for the other swing out:

Thinking of converting the inside jerry can spot to a hilift mount / camp gas holder.

12:30 PM:
Called up the dealership about an order that I had no news on for 10 days, it was ready for pickup.

2 PM:
Cleaned the garage and Dad showed up again to help out, we got the heating loops all done, and finished up the heating / radiator refresh, now just for the block drain plugs to show up, and the cooling system it done.

4PM:
Dad left, and I got to work on the wiring harness extensions for the bumper lights.

Nothing pretty to look at, but I am proud of them (and my limited soldering experience)
All of the connections were twisted, and then soldered (heated the wire connection from bottom, and then touch the solder to the top)

Found this when trying to do some looking at the brake harness:

Promptly removed that. (was a aftermarket set of trailer light hookup)

8PM:
After dinner, worked on getting the external bumper wires into the cab, and that led me to find some more wiring delights:

Did some wire crimping:

After installing the correct crimped connectors (not the ones above :hillbilly: ) I tested that all of the functions of the bumper lights work!

This is under the cargo area where the spare used to live? Is it just dirty or did you find amateur electrical adventures?

I wish I had a triple gas holder. My labs bumper is a double. I’d like to carry more fuel.

Actually, if we’re wishing: I’d install a long range America aux tank and use that swing arm for water.

Seems like the perfect swing arm is another dudes. I’d like to mount a propane tank bracket under the swing arm, but i have t figured it out yet. If I could do it from scratch and design the configuration of how my swings work I’d be happy, I’m glad your gas is in the driver side. You have the option of opening the swing and siphoning gas in from the tank. Who made that bumper? It seems well done.
