Got a little desert time this morning. Found out where some trimming needs to be done for these new 37s.

One of my favorite wheeling places. Heading there in a couple of weeks 😎

I trimmed off the part of the fiberglass fender that angled inward towards the axle. Left about an inch of the underside of the flare and have yet to rub on the flares since. When I do rub it's polishing the metal on the wheel arch and the @sleeoffroad bumper wing, which also slopes slightly inward toward the axle as it returns into the wheel well. Such a well designed, nice bumper I really don't want to trim it. I guess this is the consequences of going with 37s. Not causing problems, but make some noise when stuffed. Debating my options. Probably should trim the wheel well metal back to maximize articulation, I just hate to do it so I'm going to ruminate for a bit.

How does it look on the other side of the truck for clearance? I'd hate to trim sheet metal too much.

Without re-reading your full thread, have you done an adjustable rear panhard bar to center the axle? Mine definitely benefitted from this in combo with the Delta panhard mount bracket.

I have the delta drop bracket, but not an adjustable pan hard. Axle is pretty centered and it’s rubbing on both sides. I am running spacers which would contribute, but I like the wider stance since it’s a tall rig. I’m still on factory bump stops- I think that’s my next issue to address.

adjustable panhard should not be necessary with a panhard correction mount. 😎

Yeah I don't think it's necessary. I might be a tad off center, but nothing I'm really worried about. I need to take a closer look at your build. I remember checking it out at SAS5. Honestly it was seeing a few built 80s at SAS that really got my search for an 80 more serious. I love all the cruisers, but this 80 has been a lot of fun to wheel in. As I recall your rig is quite a bit more extreme in mods than mine.

Shop day. Added some chase lights. Baja designs S2.

Didn’t love how the light hung out there on the sleek @Delta VS rack. Tinkering with making a shroud in a similar design that might shield the light from sliding goods on the rack and clean up the look. What are your thoughts? Too much?

Wish I had the tools for the precision of Delta products. Turned out ok considering who made it.

Messing around with an idea @Delta VS Dave had - I bent some aluminum for a temp bracket to test out a camp light idea with small rigid rock light.

Lights it up fairly well. Wonder if a Baja Designs s2 would be tons better or not.

Might angle them downward a bit more, though the actual rock lights fill in pretty good next to the rig. (still haven’t added my middle rock lights as I wanted to wait until sliders are installed).

Rock lights only.
