This is under the cargo area where the spare used to live? Is it just dirty or did you find amateur electrical adventures?
That is near there, yes, this was the harness that runs along the back, across the vehicle, near the bumper.
I wish I had a triple gas holder. My labs bumper is a double. I’d like to carry more fuel.

Actually, if we’re wishing: I’d install a long range America aux tank and use that swing arm for water.

Seems like the perfect swing arm is another dudes. I’d like to mount a propane tank bracket under the swing arm, but i have t figured it out yet. If I could do it from scratch and design the configuration of how my swings work I’d be happy, I’m glad your gas is in the driver side. You have the option of opening the swing and siphoning gas in from the tank. Who made that bumper? It seems well done.
This is only a 2 can holder :(

The bumper was installed by the PO.
It seems to be a little light duty if one was to be bouncing off rock ledges all day (like in Moab)

My biggest gripe with it, is that the spare mount is not suited for LHD vehicles, ideally for LHD, the spare should be on the left side.

Other than that, it seems to be pretty well though out / decent.
Where the swingarms latch on to the bumper are quite beefy.

If this had not come on the vehicle, I dont think I would have purchased it, its the same price as a 4x4 labs, ETC

Pics of the refreshed heating loop:
Brand new heater control valve and all new tubing, used the factory "U" fitting and a Gates molded 90 to bypass the rear heat.
Probably will remove the rear heater from the interior soon, but retain the part.

During that process, we slightly mangled one of the EGR system hoses (the one above with some adhesive gobs on it) going to let that ride for now and see if it throws codes.

Gates hose part number GAT 28467

Looks great.

The little hard line got mangled? or the vacuum line?

All the new hoses and that shiny switch look good. Thats gotta feel pretty nice to have wrapped up. Ask me how I know !!

hmmmmmm, small pickle.
When I picked up the jerry can holder / license plate mount, I saw that the plate light was fogged up.
Tested it today on where the factory harness should work, and it did not light up :(
Probably will order this here tonight:

I’ve got one like that. The metal is even cheaper and thinner than you can imagine. Rust will claim it, but it does it’s job.

Today's adventures:
In the attempt to cut down on unwanted mud / moisture ingress into the cabin, I discovered that my rear sun roof drains (the ones that snake through the cabin behind panels, are both missing.
Partsouq points me to this:

Which is NLA :(

Going to see what can be done with parts store grommets :D

Partially completed a sleeping platform extension, learned a lot of lessons, going to make some small changes to it this weekend

Is it possible they have fallen down and are hiding in the panels? Can you see them if you remove the rear plastic cargo area trim? IIRC you can find them there close to the 2nd row door (C pillar I guess it must be)

hmm, Maybe I was reading partsouq wrong.

These would be where the drains exit the vehicle on to the ground:

The hole around that rubber line is right into the rear quarter panel

Hose appears to be the following:

63248BHOSE, SLIDING ROOF
63248-60020 (01/1990 - 08/1994)
63248-60021 (09/1994 - 12/1997)

They are either black or clear, I can't remember and I thought they ran to the pinch welds under the rear doors.

Wired up the rear plate light / hangar

Got the new drain plug into the block.
Filled the cooling system back up
Discovered that I now have no heat :(
The little arm moves when I move the hot / cold slider in the cabin, and the valve moves in the same manner, but no heat :(
Going to have to puzzle a bit more on that tomorrow

Did you burp the system? We had to burp my brother's 80 a few times to get all the air out.

^^this. Air bubbles will make the heat not function. Work on burping before you take more drastic measures.

Burping is letting the engine idle up to temperature with the heat on full, radiator cap off?
I did that once last night to a few bubbles

yes, but you'll likely have to do it a couple of times. Elevating the front of the vehicle (so the radiator cap is the highest point in the cooling system) helps. Rev the engine a few times, squeeze hoses, cycle heat on/off... anything you can think to get trapped air to move through the system.

Elevate the front of the truck, rad cap off. Turn it on and set heat to full blast hot front and rear. Warm up engine and then rev and hold the engine at 2-2.5k rpm. Once the thermostat opens you’ll get air pockets releasing from the system and some coolant and air coming out of the rad cap hole and the heat will slowly return. You can let it idle and go squeeze upper rad hoses and heater hoses as well. Once heat is blowing hot you should be good. Get a burp funnel for good measure and ease of cleanup. Have extra coolant on hand. When the air bubbles release, coolant will take its place so you’ll need to top off.

Then I usually drive for a day or two then do it again just to be sure.
