E-mailedFairchild the other day about some prices on the door weatherstripping. They are cheap but you have to buy in bulk. I have evrything I need but someone should put together a group buy and buy everything needed for a quarter of the price.

Dear Marshall,

Thank you for your inquiry regarding our trim seals PN# 15000 and #15452. Both of these products come in a minimum standard carton size of 300' (3 rolls of 100') for a price of $.69/ft or $207.00 per box. We ship UPS-Ground and can take Visa or Mastercard.

If you were not looking for these large of quantities, you could check out McMaster-Carr at www.mcmaster.com or J.C. Whitney at www.jcw.com.

Just finished installing the JCWhitney body to door seals # ZX132560W and they are very very tight, anyone used them long enough to see if they develop a "set"? mayby\e fairchilds # 0354 might be a better choice??...........I did use Marshalls deasblow hammer technique and it works, even woke the neighbors:grinpimp:

Marshall - is this for the piece that fits on the door or on the body? If its for the door I'm in for enough to cover my four doors if the stuff looks like it will fit well.

Lou when you mean tight where is it tight?

I went and looked at mine again. It fits really well. I have no problem opening and shutting the door. On the top frame and the side where the striker is though it doesn't actually get pinched like the rest it. Lou look at my pictures.

Steve I'm assuming it's for any of there profiles. I could be wrong. What I want to make sure is that the weatherstripping I ordered will work for all models. Lou has some issues right now.

How many feet does it take to do all the doors? You can count me in. I'll take a 100ft or whatever it takes to do the job. Let's put together a group buy.

Jeff

Marshall, I let it sit over night and the fit is a lot better this morning at 10.00 AM than 10 hours ago!:D.....this is the JC Whitney body to door seal number # ZX132560W..... the SOR seal has a different profile and seems to be about the same fit from the one that I have seen................count me in for 100 ft of the door weather stripping:bounce:;

Lou

Yes. As far as I can tell. Took about 12ft per door. So 50 should do it. I will install my front door seals tonight and take some pics.

Fairchild is sending me about 10 different profiles to look at. Lets wait until we can make sure that what you are going to buy is the right thing.

Marshall,

I'm in for 100 ft. One of my pigs still has the original rear tailgate weather strip if your want a comparison. I'd be glad to try to dimension it or shoot some photos.

Harry, is that the weatherstrip that is at the bottom of the tailgate? If so, please take photos and post up!

Charles, was able to get the parts you are looking for off of a trashed 1979 pig....camera is on the blink but will get pix out to you when it is working.can download pix

Lou

Sor's weatherstrip

Here's pic's of Sor's weatherstrip I installed, two doors close ok, the other two are very hard to close so I'll probably use the profile that Marshall used.
