not sure I like the idea of doing the lower fender in black (where the blue tape is now) - maybe not

also, just to clarify, that water/fluid is not from my truck ;p

The step mount supports.

Cleaned up and painted the frame.

Have a few minor things to address, but this completes the bodywork phase, time to move onto the "fun" stuff.

Agree about not being sure, this is the first chance to really look at it. Paint the rockers body color and leave the steps black, or maybe not?

Nope, overflow from the coolers.:hillbilly:

we need to see the black fender flares in action, I guess - I can't get them out of the garage in my gimp status as the knee roller doesn't fit with the LX parked in there; Michael will be in town next weekend

those step mounts are really beefy :D

the steps still need the backing plates under the fender

so, the fuel line will now go inside or outside of the body mounts ?

That's really coming along. I like!!

We showed Cleco clamps earlier, but didn't really explain, so shot some pix. They are mainly used in aircraft rivet work, but are handy for any sheet metal work.

They are a spring loaded clamp and special pliers. When depressed/extended they become narrower, allowing them to go through the hole, in this case 3/16". When released they expand, aligning the holes and clamping the metal pieces together. Sheet metal screws can do the same job, but these are handier, especially if the part needs to taken apart a few times for fitting. When done, simply weld up the holes.

Yep, or, not sure that they are really needed, so will likely make/install them.:hillbilly:

Haven't messed with the fuel lines? If you are referring to the vent line, will likely go inside of the frame with the fuel lines.

Kevin did you just shoot the paint while the tub was on the frame looks great. When are you starting on the front end? I will be in this week to drop off the steering column. When you start the front end let me know I want to take a day off and come work with you guys for a full day then we can officially say the three stooges are in the house well if Nick and i are there it will be at least two stooges! Talk soon. Dropped off the stuff at powder coater and all of my other parts are completely sand blasted and look Puurty! Claudia your rig is looking good and the special Pink we have picked out for paint is going to look awesome!

There are a few more parts from the Chicago axle that could use some sand love.

When are you starting on the front end?

Like this? :hillbilly:
