These are much stronger, will have ~5" more clearance, so for the intended use, should work well,

No doubt.

I have some ideas to take a pair of stockers and make them as strong as a set of sliders. It's on my to-do list...

The ones that 4-plus makes are pretty compelling for the price.

Lovin the steps... Are those the stock support arms?

I usually walk away when the sawzall comes out (hate the idea and the sound ) ...

Just giving you grief, know how you love the sawzall! :hillbilly:

... I wouldn't exactly call those contacts 'gentle', though  :hillbilly: ...

Agree, the last contact wasn't exactly gentle or graceful or,,, but, overall, most are more controlled, less impact when compared to the impacts from momentum type wheeling.

That was the first plan, was discarded when we looked at how much work it would be.

Hard to argue with that, Dave makes nice stuff, have some 4-plus on order for this project.

Love the factory looking steps that can handle the abuse! What thickness is the step "hoop" wall? Looks great, I really dig the factory looking design.

Wow, nice job guys.

The square tube is 11G or ~.120" wall, the mount and nut plates are 1/4".

We discovered a major design, lack of planning furbar today! The new flare location doesn't allow for CM stickers to fit in the prescribed location!:o There is likely to be hell to pay for this one, may have to design sign boards,,, or something.:hillbilly:

who knows, I may be done with stickers on the truck proper :meh:

our other trucks have them only on the bumpers (that will get lost at some point, hopefully ? . . . )

BUMPER sticker Claudia. Resist. Don't cover the intrinsic beauty of a 40. Let it breathe. :-)

 They look good on the shop tool box.

That one would fit well next to my "Fish Nekid" Montana sticker.:D

Haven't been taking many pix.:o Most of the work we have been doing has been pretty mundane, body sanding, filling holes, making the other step, etc.

Started working on fitting the tailgate. Got it tweaked back to somewhat straight, fitting well. There are a bunch of big holes drilled where the latch hooks need to go, none of them are in the right place for the stock hooks, so more would need to be drilled.

Talked about cutting even more metal out, but it's not in the easiest spot, so decided to make new hooks. Made the new hook bases large enough to cover the holes.

Works great, pulls in tight, no rattle.

Using bolts as hinge pins, are replacement hinge pins available?
