Thank you all for assisting to resuscitate me from an 8 month work fog as well as pulling my head out of the sand from the humiliating blunder of blowing the snot out of my head gasket due charging forward using a bad tank of gas while crossing a dessert in 110 degree heat.
With the confession of my sin to my mistress I seek absolution be sharing forth my wake up call with some eye candy.
I was fortunate that the bottom end and valve train were virtually unharmed,
The rings, pistons and cylinder walls didn’t fare to well.
The longest part of the repair process was waiting for the machine shop to re-sleeve the block!

Sorry to hear it was that bad, I was thinking just a head gasket went away.

Last week my engine guru jumped right on it and tada!!!
Todays Fresh eye candy
He won’t have it finished this week but next week looks very favorable.
With some break in time hope to be pig party ready.
With my work load on a manageable schedule, long daylight hours and clear sky’s, I started installing the batch of powder coated parts stash on my red and white 71 grand mistress.
FYI. I did pop in on the crew to see how everyone is doing every so often. Glad to be still in the fold.

Hallelujah!! Official, My pig has been successfully resuscitated. I picked it up today and thoroughly enjoyed driving it again.
Took the dogs for a long. Supposed to put on 500 miles to seat the new pistons and rings. Neither The bottom end or the valve train were damaged so breaking will a piece of cake.
Pig will be ready for Jarbidge. Just hoping on hope that work will not get in they way.

Attempting to resurface:
Sorry, I have missed out on about 4 months of the knights trials and tribulations and worse, PP24.
Long story short: one of my projects went down a rabbit hole and I spent May, June, July and August putting in 90 plus hours a week to complete a project with an unrealistic deadline. Completed it 3 weeks ago.
Never in my life have I ever had to but out that kind of insanity. Successful as it was, it has taken my brain weeks to normalize. The best therapy I have found is to be working on my pigs again.
Trying to catch up on all the scuttlebut.
Great to see so many projects still chugging along. Saddest to see Jim and Bonnie part ways with their pet. Looks like it has gone to a great new home.
No big revelations with my 2 swine.
Silver & white 77 has been repaired after bad gas. The hood had to get repainted due to a mishap at the mechanics. Its running extremely well. Starving for an excursion
Red and white 71: grunting properly as it should, needs the fuel filler hose to the tank replaced. Drove to Spector Off Road today to pick up a few nuts and bolts as I get ready to reinstall all the freshly powder coated skid and splash plates.

Project in question.
It was intended as a 1 year refresh on a 4,000 sqft home. Classic 1974 redwood inside and out. Very cool features throughout, Some areas 20' ceilings.
New kitchen, new primary bath, [not allowed to use the word "master"], replace door and window casing, replace base board, replace all door hinges and hardware, new floors though out and complete interior paint and stain through out.
Piece of cake , right!
Additional findings:
-Numerous exterior sliding glass doors and swinging doors had inferior installation with threshold leaks. Remove and reinstall correctly.
-3,000 sq ft of redwood T&G ceiling had to be removed and replace with new due to mold. Due to improper insulation install, install new spay foam insulation.
-due to originally pour lighting it was determined to add significant amount of new lighting and switching.
-due to new electrical for lighting all drywall walls needed patching and resurfacing.
-exterior trellis exposed ornamental architectural 30' long glue lam beam with 4x8 rafters 20' high over a court no roof. ALL completely rotted and disintegrating. Replace per original detailing.
Piece of cake , right!
It added 4 plus months of work to the project.

Due to heath concerns for the customer it was imperative to complete the project on the original specified timetable plus a week.

Due to the fact that I like my customer and have always met my obligations I stepped up to the plate.
Piece of cake , 1 year and 1 week.
Clients are ecstatic.

Just got off the phone with Gordobe, told him he was missed, told him we dont need pics of his projects, just need to know he is ok , he is, ssid he would post soon. It was good to hear his voice

Hello all,
Took me a few minute to figure out how to access my thread.
Again, thanks to all who have reached out to make I am still in the land of the living.
PP25 has me excited. So far I believe I am going to make the trip.
Last week had the shop get a smog check done and give the undercarriage an inspection. One tie rod end was showing some wear and the AC needed a transfusion. R12 $2,000 a bottle, so they used a mix of propane and butane. Never heard of it before, but supposedly is a bit more efficient and a lot more economical.
Have done a couple items needed doing. The whole time that I have owned this pig, gassing it up has been a problem in California? The filler neck stuck up very high in the body fill pocket. The gas nozzle would get stuck when you stuffed it in all the way. I would have to use a screw diver to pry it back out. I figured 13 years was a long enough wait time to try and solve the problem. I also finally found a one piece filler hose to replace the three piece one I had to install years back.
I fabricated a space to lower the fill neck in the pocket. Even added a bevel to it to tip it out a bit. Surprise Surprise, I was finally able to retire the screw driver.
