Looks good and seems like a nice option over an upgraded (LED) stock and it's nice to have the RPMs.

Thanks, one of the challenges with this truck has been alot of the original parts were missing or in bad shape, guage cluster included. The electrical system had been on fire at one point. Thanks to coolerman, we'll be in good shape.

That cluster is the shizzle... Love it. Let us know what the final product looks like. I may order one for my next build.

I'll post when it hits here. I've been excited about this dash cluster since they released them a few years back. I really got excited when they released the white lights.

The fact that they are willing to customize is a big bonus. I called speedhut prior to placing the DD order and they wanted nothing to do with any custom order. Dakota's custom shop was willing to accommodate all of my ideas. Unfortunately this time around our budget(if you can call it that) is starting to get skinny.

Very impressive effort!

While reading through this thread, I noticed the pic of the thermostat sitting in its lower housing. Was that just intended to show the bling? (I happen to love bling) I was under the impression that the wax pellet was supposed to face downwards, in order to be heated by the coolant leaving the engine block..

Thanks, it might have been showing the bLing. If I am remembering correctly, it only fits into the upper housing one way. I'll double check. This is an 84 FJ60 2F.

More progress on bodywork, filler and seam sealer:

I was trying to remember which way I installed the thermostat. I had to peek to make sure....

Rub a dub dub High Build Primer on the Tub! (Im guessing that is what that white stuff is anyway. . . ). Only other thought is it could be a sealer, but looks like progress either way. Seems like a nice rural settting for a body shop :cow:.

Looking Good J!

Thanks Dave, I'm trying to stay calm and not bug them but am getting pretty excited.

The pictures above are high build primer. They will use a UV primer next and then paint. Tomorrow they are tackling the interior as it's still in epoxy primer.

After about 4 weeks since first contact with Dakota Digital, the customized guage cluster arrived today. They were great to work with and after finally getting my hands on it, it is a work of art. We had them match the font of the original guages and back the tach down from 8k to 5k. There were software changes needed to accomplish the tach customization. Dakota(for a price) was willing to make any changes that I asked for.

That is awesome. They should market that version as the jdc1 package. Much more appealing in my opinion. Great job!

Thanks, the original plan was to drop the analog tach (it has the ability to show rpm on the digital display) and do an exact copy of a 40 guage cluster. Dakota was willing to accommodate but they would have had to build a new board and reprogram $$$...... Maybe next time.

Any color laid down yet?

Not yet, final body work has been slow but steady. They are wrapping up The interior floor and it should see primer soon. The rest of the parts except for fenders and hood are going to be blasted so we can do a final check on the hardtop fitment before paint.

I have been busy working on a 69 FJ40 for a buddy. A jeeper couldnt get his brakes figured out and I am doing a knuckle rebuild, FJ60 power steering conversion and rear disc brake install.

This spring, my daughter has been playing on 2 U10 soccer teams and I am coaching my youngest son's grasshopper(preschoolers) team once a week. Life has been full.
