FWIW: My Sniper's fuel system, I use the supply and return ports on my '77 OEM gas tank. The 5/16" supply line off the tank steps up to 3/8" just after passing through the cab floor. The 3/8" return line off the Sniper steps down to 5/16"...

Yes I had hoped to get the lower ply rating versions, but unfortunately they only have he 14PR in stock. There really is a limited supply of decent tyres in the size here, and i cant justify spending ~1000usd plus postage on the City Racer...

Back in the late 60’s, the Woodstock era 😉, the chick on the beach was a common thing at swimming holes and some hidden lakes here in the northeast…. Brings back some crazy memories. That looks like a trip of a lifetime from my perspective ON...

Here's a set of the four motor mount brackets used to sit a 2F in an FJ40. These are clean and have been painted black. Very nice all threaded holes are good. The passenger side rear mount (bolts to the bellhousing) has the two threaded holes for...

Not a ton: shutter wheel shifted up slightly on the main shaft to give proper tang length to the oil pump; spacer added on lower shaft to compensate Somewhat similar to some HEI mods re: gear spacing: shaft turned down a very small amount...

I didn’t intend to disparage Radflo, so I should explain more. I bought the shocks from another member who said they had about 10k miles on them. When they shipped me the shocks they did a lousy job of packaging them which resulted in the...

I did see those but I'd have to install a lift to run those so wanted to stick with 235/85/F16's 👍 Hodakaguy

I should have read this thread sooner. Love the color of your 40. Great job fabbing all the pieces up yourself, looking great!

I also had a couple more spray bombs custom-mixed, and this time I think we got a pretty good match! Here I've sprayed the rocker, door sill, and lower front wheel arch. It'll need some blending, but all in all the colour is spot on! [edited to...

Straighten the tube, and cut a sleeve in two of the next larger diameter tube, and weld it to the outside, being sure to drill a few holes and rosette welding on the outside brace tube. That's how we repaired aviation tubing back in the day.

I really cannot tell fully but that tube is solidly attached to the frame. Whatever happened there one would assume the frame itself has been affected as well. I would not feel good without putting in a new tube and measuring the frame to be in...

FINALLY getting around to the sill. This has been quite the project that is really showing my lack of welding skills, haha. I learned a lot, though, and there are things that I would do differently next time. At any rate, it will 100% do the...

You are an inspiration to us all. Great work

Got a little more work done on the 40 over the weekend. Man, this thing is *rough*. Anyway, one step at a time. First thing was to bring the passenger side fender into a reasonable approximation of its original shape. It was pretty dented up...

Pretty simple 5% vinegar and Epsom salt electrolyte with a block of zinc cut into smaller anodes and an adjustable power supply. They don't come out of the bath with a professional shine but polish up well with a light brushing with soft brass...

I found a local guy practically giving away the same transmission from his 1969 project. It had the original column shift top plate, all linkages, a second bellhousing and most of a second vacuum transfer shifter. The gears were in much better...

Well, I think I finally have this area sewn up. After a marathon session of welding, grinding, filling, and sanding, it's finally in primer. I spread some filler over the weld joints, mostly, just to cover up any inconsistencies. After...

It's been a busy week and I've been away from the garage long enough for this thread to get all the way to page 4 in the 40/55 forum! Unacceptable. Anyway, last night I spent a few hours working on the floor area behind the front seats. This...

Last night I set about repairing the damaged tub rail on the passenger side. I did the driver's side a while ago but didn't take many photos. This time I tried to document it a little more thoroughly, just for @RevISK. Here's the spot where a PO...

Seems right. From what I can find they are a Chinese company that has been making ARB knockoff (older style) lockers for at least 10 years. Not sure how recently they started making e-lockers. Didn’t find any reviews from someone that had...

Replaced rear rubber brake line and that fixed the left rear locking issue. Found a sniper on marketplace new in box for almost half price. I wont be rebuilding that carb again!

I just wrapped up installing a skid plate I bought from ToJo Products 3 years ago. I believe I found it on iH8Mud, and I believe it's a "Downey" skid plate (Time + Age = poor memory). Anyways, I filmed the experience, and posted it to YouTube...
