Mocked up a family sized bikini top. Wife sewed, I welded. WIP… literally held on with two nylocks and two c-clamps. Mostly scrounged materials.
Got some JEGS 3-point seatbelts and will revisit the rear seat topic after some work on the 62.
I added the driver’s seat, front cup holder on the Tuffy, jack holder, tool kit, and rear seat. I also put another coat of paint on the apron. I spent about an hour trying to find the big rubber band that holds the tool kit down. Finally found...
Rather than lowering the bumpstops, I'd consider drilling the spring pad and plate to move the axle slightly forward. I'd hate to see you loose more travel. Also, in some of the pictures the rear wheels look a bit too far back.
This is the fun stuff! I have my eye on one of those Tuffy’s. I got a new stereo for my birthday but of course it doesn’t fit in the dash and I’m not gonna cut it. Will fabricate something in that space for external switches, which it looks like...
A little more progress on the interior. Put the Tuffy console back in. Punched some bolt holes in the vinyl floor for the transmission hump items. Installed the passenger seat and the instrument cluster. Put in the defrost hoses as well as...
You may already know this, but those pop out window divider bars can be welded into earlier top sides to convert them to pop out windows. You can probably sell those or keep them for another project.
Just one small addition to what you stated in case someone is reading this later and troubleshooting. In the on position, pins 1 and 2 are connected as well. This is what sends the power to the flasher and what was causing your issue (GO and GW...
Thanks @Green Bean ! Very satisfying for sure. Now, onto the headlight switch.
Problem: 1st pull on the headlight switch, only headlights come on. 2nd pull, All lights. Seems the headlights and parking light wires are swapped somewhere...
Hazard switch. Normal course of action might be to find another or buy one. However a small flat head screwdriver to carefully pry open the tabs and wiring harness revealed what I'd hoped to be an easy fix:
Quite a bit of dirt and grime fell...
Had some momentum going so I routed the floor wiring harness and started fitting the vinyl floor mats. Considering it’s been rolled up for a couple years it laid down pretty well.
So I was going to just put the rear heater back in but it had 44 yrs of dirt in it and my new floor was looking pretty darn clean. So I took it all apart and gave it a good soaking with vinegar. Flow was really good through it. Gave everything...
Sounds like you are on the right track. GR should be key on position power which feeds the turn signals. That shouldn’t be a problem since it’s working. GW is continuous hot, so you can turn on your hazards anytime. You should check that for...
