When removing one of the BSVS from the thermostat housing of Jack's 40, the hole stripped. Does anyone know the size and thread pitch of that hole so that I can try and rethread it?
What size wrench did it take ?
I’m guess a 12mm so it should be an M8x1.25 thread x ??? Length
If it was a 10mm wrench M6x1.00 thread

Finished up the rear hanger, shortened the front driveshaft, bolted it all back up. Topped off fluids and just pick up fittings for the compressor to adapt a air hose incase my wheels decide to loose air. I think it’s ready for fall crawl. With 2 weeks to spare. I must have forgot something.

you will remember it aroundWinchester!

looks good!
probably sooner than that. I tend to remember as soon as I hit 81 on all of the things I forgot to pack. have to hit the wallyworld every year before heading to camp.

Is that a kit Ed or did you put that together yourself? I've been thinking about doing that same thing on my 80.

Finally got my tailgate storage lid by @Notch of Back Bay Customs installed. Great kit and other than cutting in to perfectly good sheet metal it was pretty easy to install.

Sarah put one in her 450 a couple years ago. Great use of space. Can't remember the brand but it came from OZ.

Swapped out the cig lighter for a Blue Sea 1045 usb fast charger. Got to try out my new crimpers too.

I’m getting 13.5v on the spade terminals so the source is good. I think I got a defective one from powerwerx—it didn’t come in any packaging so who knows. Tested it with 3 cords and two phones. Looking forward to get it working.

👌 thanks @iptman I saw that company and considered them. I’m leaning towards going with Busted Finger Motorsports It’s a mom/pop operation that’s focused on automotive applications. I have not used them yet. Just exploring options at this point.

Update 10/12: Contacted Busted Finger Motor Sport and received a response a few days later. By the time I heard back, I already contacted a certified applicator in Front Royal, VA. Called them this morning, left a message and received a call back the same morning. Dropping some parts off this afternoon. I’ll update with photos.

I’ll probably have Busted Finger handle the actual turbo refresh. Trying to source a rebuild kit for it at the moment.

I'm replacing my rear catalytic converter, rear muffler and pipe soon. What was the company called in Front Royal? I'm interested in Cerekoting my exhaust system.

@Red703 it was:

2-3-week turnaround @$125-150 to Cerakote the turbo manifold. Busted Finger Motorsport had a better price of $70 but shipping to/from could make it a wash depending on what the Front Royal place charges. Coatings USA was friendly and the staff walked me in the back to see their setup. They had some DOD items stacked on pallets. The oven they use is big enough for a frame and I was given a rough quote of $900-1500 to powder coat one (my long-term plan is to galvanize my extra frame & powder coat).

I'm having BFM powder coat the compressor and Cerakote the exhaust side. I feel better about a place that had it’s humble beginnings in tuning. At least in my mind, they’ll understand common things to look for. Replacing the exhaust flange of my AXT turbo (1st picture) to a 2.5 inch V-band setup (2nd picture). The AXT turbo doesn't have any markings. So, I had to measure the manifold mounting studs to determine the type of Garrett knock-off they used. It's a T3 variant and the common complaint about the AXT setup is the compression mount for the exhaust that comes with the kit. It constrains the exhaust at the turbo and would not provide the full benefit of the stainless steel 2.5 inch exhaust I'm hoping to recruit @OTRAMM to build for me.

Looks like a big project man, I always wondered if there was a local place to galvanize a frame. I have to use my 80s during the winter and wanted a life long rig. The idea I can do that nearby might spark some interest in the way distant future to galvanize my frame. I would also like to use BFM but its on the other side of VA and shipping big exhaust parts might be expensive. A trip to Front Royal is manageable for me. Can't wait to see how the turbo manifold turns out.

local West Marine got one in stock so went and grabbed it. Fired right up.

Now to send this bad one back to powerwerx—they wanted me to wait for it to be returned, inspected, and then they ship a new one. Would have been November by the time I got it.

Now I just need to grind a smidge off the ram mount so the ashtray closes all the way.
