Man that sucks... where did you go to get the Cerakote applied? I’m about to get my turbo manifold blasted then have it Cerakoted.

I had my 80's manifolds coated with high-temp Cerikote and that crap has worn completely off.

I'd have to look it up. It was a local Cerakote applicator who did mostly firearm coatings. However, he did blast them and bake them since they were small enough to fit in his oven.

I know that when I had my manifold coated by Jethot, like 20 years ago, they stated that while they may discolor, the coating is still there... perhaps that is the same for cerakote? Are they rusting or just discolored?

👌 thanks @iptman I saw that company and considered them. I’m leaning towards going with Busted Finger Motorsports It’s a mom/pop operation that’s focused on automotive applications. I have not used them yet. Just exploring options at this point.

Update 10/12: Contacted Busted Finger Motor Sport and received a response a few days later. By the time I heard back, I already contacted a certified applicator in Front Royal, VA. Called them this morning, left a message and received a call back the same morning. Dropping some parts off this afternoon. I’ll update with photos.

I’ll probably have Busted Finger handle the actual turbo refresh. Trying to source a rebuild kit for it at the moment.

I had my brand new Magnaflow Y pipe coated at the same time. Hard to see the manifold under the heat shields. It's certainly worse closer to the head. About half way down the runners there's still Cerakote left.

I had my motorcycle headers media blasted and Jet Hot coated at American Stripping in Manassas about eight years ago and it has held up great.

My back finally was good enough to get some work done on the 40 from the frame damage that happened at fall crawl last year. I can tell when my back started hurting as my welds started to not look that good. I got in a hurry to finish. It will take me a few days to recover and now I Just have to do the rear hanger. Hopefully be done by the end of the weekend.

Continuing my CNC education and moving on to bent tubes...

@PAToyota should use his newly acquired CNC tube bender skills to make a few factory soft top bows sets.

Like this?

I'd either need a set to work from or clear measurements of them.

Also, those look like pretty small tube. I'd have to check what our minimum dies are. I could do smaller tube and just cut and mark it so you could bend it with a manual bender.

Yes... that‘s it @PAToyota and I have a legit set of soft top bows. They aren’t knock-off’s. So, measurements aren’t a problem.

Is it just the bows? Or do you need the other pieces shown at that link?

Those extra pieces could be scavenged from a rusty hard top.

We have a plasma table - or could send the parts out to the laser shop to be cut.

Of course, we'd probably be in the neighborhood of the kit in the link at that point.

If you watch Four Wheeler in your garage does it count as working in your garage?

Only had time for some quick stuff this weekend. I seated the aftermarket dash on metal retainer:
