Not sure if it helps any, but worth a shot.
It does hang a little too low even on the original application.

Thank you, I think I found a freebie tank :hillbilly:, I think I may just buy the OEM filler neck, it has the valve and everything else

Only reason i did not go with oem filler neck is the price but you will need to cut the filler pipe anyway

The OEM filler pipe is a freaking work of art!!!

reason i like my filler it is really simple there is nothing to go wrong easy to fill up and easy to make

I may be going your route it I cant figure a way to protect the assemble. Now what did I do with the old OEM filler :bang:

I got my oem dual filler from @Akella . It is the diesel style with the large flapper for the larger spout. It was a lot of money but I love it. I am getting close to 400 miles before the light comes on, at least highway driving. Around town would be the same if I could keep my foot off the fun pedal! When my gauge reads 1/4 tank I hit my transfer switch and it runs right back up to full.

Needs better protection - I have bent the flapper shaft twice now. When the shaft bends the pull lever will not operate.

Leave it to you to ruin a perfectly good thing :flipoff2: Mine is still going great after 14 years.

Oh I hear you on the price, but I look at the time and effort in which the work involved, and the price, and I know it fits the Toyota FJ80

I am not sure this is the place to talk about bending your fapper shaft, Oh flapper :hillbilly:

I have been searching locally for a tank but haven't found one yet. Why are we not using ebay tanks? They go for about $100 on there.

The OEM Dual filler is easy to operate.. Im not sure why Phil has bent the rod on it. I have two in use and haven't had these issues. One of them is on the lx450 chinook and is exposed. Alkella can order the extra rods and pull knobs if you can find one with missing parts.

Im not bending the pull knob rod Im bend the shaft that the diverter is on. The damage, Im guessing is from from the tire throwing something into the plastic inner fender liner protecting it. I would like to make a metal one but the bends needed to make it fit without the tire hitting on full compression will be a challenge.

@goranvolvo
This part in circle is cut from your truck filler neck or your spare? I'm thinking of getting part out and fab up something like yours. Thanks

it is the old one i just cut it off , make sure you cut it shortest possible if it is to long filer gun on pump will not reach in the split pipe
if you go to page #2 you will se i made slight bend on inside so it fits nice and make sure you DO NOT weld anything before fitting it and determining correct angle
when welded and in place it must look like factoru setup
