Nice!
and last piece all done , just finished installing and wiring my fuel gauge
so whole setup is totally done , after all parts i spent 93 $ from start to finish

What gauge is that please and could you describe how you cut the original fuel neck off the factory tank? Sawzall, hacksaw? Was tank full or empty?

thanks

search on ebay (LED fuel gauge ) and look for same one , to install that one you do need to open the hole a bit , you need to remove whole filer neck assembly in order to cut it of but to remove it you need to cut it in half because there is no way to pull it out without cutting unled you lift whole body of the frame i used band saw to cut it
Here, use this resource as most of us have: Auxiliary tank
the setup will cost you over 1000 $ when you done i spent less than 100 $ and i got 25 GAL. of extra fuel

How did you get your tanks plumbed up? Do you have the aux feed the main tank or does it switch? More info on this would be great! Awesome write up!
aux tank is plumed in factory i m usin pump from aux tank to pump the fuel in OEM tank

The purpose of the link was to teach others how the plumbing works as your thread is not clear in that dept.

And since we're being smart asses, my setup costs me $350 for the dual filler neck, transfer ECU, tank, straps, etc. I did that install back in 2004 but only have 16 gallons AND able to stick the spare tire back where it belongs under the cargo area. :flipoff2:

Looks like you did not notice my whole setup is custom homemade if someone goes my route your link is usles 350 $ that is good i still have 250$ in my packet and more fuel and i was not being smart ass so sory for hearting your fealings and now pis off

Dude, take a chill pill already. If you're gonna dish it out, learn to take it. You didn't hurt my feelings one iota and your custom solution is awesome, not knocking it one bit. Now, let's work on your punctuation :hillbilly:.

The link to George's install is good for anyone who wants to install a sub tank and needs to know how to do the plumbing, regardless of what kind of tank or filling solution are being utilized.

My factory aux tank (only) was $35 :flipoff2:

I was able to cut my original filler neck in place along with the vent tube. I used a hack saw and held my breath with every stroke. For me it was more nerving than cutting a hole and welding the aux tank itself.

Make sure to properly test before you cut

I wanna join the flipoff fest, my tank was only $20:flipoff2:.

But, my dual filler neck was new at nearly $400:bang: , pretty damn sweet though.

Great thread and nice job on your sub tank and filler neck!

what did you use to paint that tank ??
It had some seriously tough factory undercoat that i couldn't sandblast off, so i blasted the bad spots and went back over it with 3m rubberized undercoating.

@goranvolvo that fuel guage is sweet. I'm going to try to find one like that too, I like the idea of fitting it in a factory looking spot like that.

it is universal gauge can be dialed in for almost any sending unit , and to fit it in factory hole you will need to do some failing to fit it maybe about 1/16 on each side
only problem i have with it , it is to bright so i ' m going to stick some window tinting foil over the screen

I like this, so I am going to do this, after I get my 4x4labs bumper done
