Just picked up my first 40 this past weekend! (The bezel has been censored because it is indecent at this time) ;)

One of the patina purchases made this summer. This is 53 years of Montana high desert patina.....

Corrugated tops are cool but they're really clumsy. The roof vent is the neatest part.

@wngrog has the best Instagram account ever, it is almost embarrassing to the rest of the Cruiser world. I only recently figured out who you were here on Mud.

Well that’s awfully nice of you.

I am glad you are enjoying it.

@89nolder is the account. Tag me I’ll share it but it can’t be a gay ass lame picture :)

Paging @FJ45Dude.

When I finished his extensive resto-mod over a decade ago, it was a bit of a struggle to convince him not to paint his 45. The idea of patina was just starting to take hold. He has told me since I then that he’s glad I convinced him to leave it alone.

My 45, circa 2007

@landcrusher909 has got a couple of very worthy patina rigs that belong here too.

@65swb45 is that the original color of your 45? Kind looks like Toyota Royal Blue I have on my paint chip sheet.

I can’t say for sure. It was a faded respray when I got it. Probably a 1980s Toyota blue. There’s a pic from last year when I had the driver’s fender off that shows the original blue. Quite a bit lighter.

The inside of my windshield frame is a different blue, kind of slate, but very factory looking. I’m virtually certain that a tree fell on it at some point. In 2001 I cut out the partially crushed driver’s corner of the cab, straightened it out and welded it back in. Then I cut the roof open, straightened and rewelded it. Like @seth said, these trucks have stories.

The underside of my bed is red.:hmm:
