Sunday marked my 21st consecutive 10k open water swim, and my 20th consecutive 10k open water in Horsetooth Reservoir outside of Ft Collins. Last year they cancelled Horsetooth, so some friends and I improvised last year and did our own.
It was rough, I did not exactly have a disciplined training regiment this year. Instead we took a few trips. But I made it! Slow and steady...

Looking N from the finish line before the start:

Looks like MUD can't handle the HEIC pictures from iPhones - super fun.

Here is a picture of me swimming, and that's all I have for you in JPG!

That water looks like it might be cold. Congrats on finishing the 10k!
69-70 degrees. It was cloudy, which did not help things. I was a little chilly at the end.

Thanks!

One more picture worked - I always like to finish w/ a little Fly:

It's a rare mid week update from Pablo. Usually I wake up Sunday to his presence on Mud. Grats on the swim, it sounds...um, fun?

Also, HEIC is specifically meant to be high capacity but not sharable. I suggest turning that feature off. There are sites that will convert to jpg but it defeats the purpose.

Yes, last Sunday saw me getting up at 3:30 AM to go through all the steps to start my swim at 7.

I hear you on the HEIC, I learned that lesson the hard way after some super fun iOS update. Apple is funny - let's take standards like .mp3 and .jpg and make proprietary formats! The pics came from friends that were taking pictures while I was either getting ready to start, or swimming.

So my oldest son (30) getting married next week in a friends barn, so a condition to me footing the bill was my son pressure washing inside roof of barn-not a problem he says. then today at 35' in the air he freezes, takes awhile to coax him down. So now I am covered in owl crap, rat crap, bird crap, plus mud from mud dobbers (sp) another project for me as I prepare for wedding, other son having child, Walnut harvest, Dealing with sisters and my moms trust, plus my business, plate full. no room for more. But we all know something else will pop up, maybe a new pig!-- I know,i should call the waaaambulance

Spent last week in Oklahoma tearing out interior of old barn with the wife. Since dad diagnosed with vascular dementia I figure we need to get some building going to store some things.

40 year old pole barn, the storage rooms inside built for nuclear attack. Gonna add on, enclose and post concrete floor. Gonna look new when done.

Coming from Colorado have to say it was little toasty but it was nice to be physically tired at end of day instead of mentally with my real job.

Dude! Frickin’ sweet! (Barn)
We actually had a great time cleaning it out. On the outside I had to remove 3 16' pipe fence panels after cutting them up with sawzaw. this is where we will extend it 14' completely reside it with plywood and metal siding and new sliding doors both front and back. This Barn will house my fathers stuff along with our crap until we can build a house next year. Then I will continue to keep and work on our tractors in it (actual barn stuff). Once house done , power and water will be run to it.

My dream barn for the storage and to rebuild and work on cruisers is being planned now. Looking at 80x70 with wash bay on outside. Gonna build just the shell to save on funds and build inside on my own. I want to build office inside also with old gas station theme. Outside of barn will share similar finish to our dream farmhouse. I'm more excited about the car barn then anything else!!

We were fortunate enough to convince the owner of 40 acres across from our 160 to sell last week. He and his son only used it for hunting and they kept dilapidated 5th wheel in direct view of our trailers front window. With properties selling like crazy to pot growers in Oklahoma right now I was scared to death someone could come in and ruin my dream redneck Riviera. I am allowing father and son to hunt our 80 acres as long as they want and I will place barn on the edge of our properties where he has a great well, and power.

You better add on so you can store more land cruisers! Need any neighbors with mutual interests by chance?
I am working on the super special antisocial compound. Since convincing neighbor to sell his 40 acres we now has 240 acres at end of dead end road with gate closing county road a 1/4 miles from the house. Closest neighbor 1mile away and west side surrounded by wildlife management area for 2500 Acres.

Cruiser heads always welcome. Actually think once we are settled it could be fun to have a cruiser bash on the compound with BBQ, camping and some good fellowship amongst cruiser junkies
