Espa… When I was going down there to work On The Hill, my friend advised me that Espa is not the place to be Anglo after dark…
When I was going to school at UNM- I was taking a Community and Regional Planning Course and went up to Taos for a weekend to "work with the City Planners" on the traffic issues in Taos. On our way back driving through Espanola my now wife, then girlfriend was learning to drive stick shift in my 94 extended cab cab Toyota Pick up. At a stop light, she popped the clutch and jerked and bounced the front end of my truck up and down maybe 3 or 4 times. She killed it, tried it again and did the same thing, with about 4 low riders behind us at the stop light. I had to take over at that point. I dont think she has ever driven a manual since then. :)

The family and I are in LA for a few days to hit Universal Studios. Since I was in town I had to make it a point to get the over to @xtiaan2000 ’s place to finally meet and check out his project. Six hour flew by like nothing - checked out a ton of parts slated for install, got the engine and drivetrain another step closer to their permanent home, and even got to drive the original “rear body mounts” rig up to the local eatery for a tasty burrito. Thanks again Christiaan! 🍻

Well, we made it to Salida Colorado without any issues. Given the 10 year dependability of our Echo, I choose to drive it over the 85 4Runner. 30 plus mpg and working AC across Kansas was a no brainer. Wife seems to be doing well with change of routine. Hoping memories of our time here will lift some of the brain fog she’s had from the stroke and 2 concussive falls in rehab. Nice to see her excited about life again! Sorry, no pics at the moment, but will post some .

Seems fall travels all around, I’m just back from a week helping dad up on the ranch, mom slowed down a lot this year and with all the bears hanging around in the fall it’s good to have 2 out working on the fences.

That is a great update!!!
Do you ever head S out of Salida, down to the Sand Dunes?
Ever been to the hot springs S of Villa Grove? That is one heck of an experience. Might be the cat's pajamas for the wife!
