@sggoat, I'm really sorry brother, but looks like it's the 19th for me as well... Ironically, my wife and I will be in St Augustine visiting my in-laws for Thanksgiving:bang:. While she is willing to put up with riding in the FJ40 for short distances, a 6 hour trip with 3 dogs will result in a firesale trade at a Jax Toyota dealer and driving away in the luxury of a Prius. Beyond that is questionable because the hurricane threw off my teaching schedule a bit.

@chubot Erik and I both have CB's and HAM radios.
Sweet,I'll install my cb this weekend. @sggoat I can catch up with CharlestonG8R and ErikinSC In Fernandina on the 19th then can meet up with you in Gainesville or Saint Augustine on the 26th and pass the baton to you and maybe make a little of the trip with you.

Is anybody running cb radio's on any of these legs?

I have both cb and 2M/70cm ham in my 40. The range on cb is so limited that it would be nearly useless - at least with the length of the legs out here in Texas.

Artesia... "The Sweet Smell of Success"

When they were 5 or 6, I taught my older children to say "that's the smell of money" any time we smelled that sour crude oil smell from the road. :)

I was just mentioning it for convoy purposes. I wasn't thinking about talking from state to state. How many watts are you kicking out?

Picked up Baton today met another great member driving a great looking cruiser

@CharlestonG8R @ErikinSC Just FYI, I took the FJ40 from Brunswick, Ga. to Fernandina Beach, Fl. on US Hwy 17 this weekend for the Georgia v. Florida debacle. It's a really easy, beautiful ride and very little traffic. Not sure of the route you guys are planning to get down to Georgia, but I can meet anywhere around Brunswick on the 19th and travel down to Fernandina and St. Augustine if that's the ultimate destination. Plenty of good spots for pictures as well.

@Godzirra I'm glad you asked! When Erik and I first discussed, our intention was to take backroads and stay off I-95 altogether. I believe both of us were planning to take 17 for most of the trip with a quick detour on 21 so that we can hit Beaufort and pick up @77wagon (or at least visit him). That will put us right in Brunswick, and you're right, we'll have some beautiful scenery! Once we get to Fernandina, I figured we'd meet up at Ft Clinch with @chubot and @mel lowe and cruise A1A all the way to St Augustine.

That sounds great! I'll be ready to join up in Brunswick. Sounds like we will have a good turnout for our leg of the trip.
Cool, you took the 40 to tailgate. I thought about heading over to the stadium, my uncle has an empty lot over there on the river with a live band and lots of food but my kids birthday party took precedence. It'll be cool having another cruiser along for the ridE.

The Georgia Florida game is a great tradition and it was perfect weather. Looking forward to the ride on the 19th and hopefully the weather will be just as nice.

@Booch What's your plan and timeframe for coming through NC? I'd love to take part if possible.

My work schedule has gotten crazy busy with traveling soooo if someone from NC can meet me near the border I can hand off the Baton as needed first weekend in Nov is packed however I prob could swing one of the others to meet

Thank you for saying the name of that event correctly! You can always tell if someone is a Georgia or a Florida fan based on what school they say first. Go DAWGS!
