I'm not sure where my briefcase is last I heard it was in Texas having been to Cape flattery in Washington State and down to Baja. Hopefully it makes it to key West and then to New England

Breaker Breaker one niner…
So the tentative plan with the original briefcase number one is to take it Ouray Colorado to the solid axle summit eight and hand it off to @LAZ and his FJ40 where he will take it back to California and send it North!🤞🏼:steer: :bounce2:

Can we get a confirmation on that good buddy?! :rimshot:View attachment 3657862
What's the 10-20 on this these days?

@John McVicker was in possession of the briefcase at Solid Axle Summit 8 (2024)

@devo cause he was the last to say something… ??

I will send the tan tool box to anyone willing to get it moving. Send me your address and it will show up at your door next week.

I handed the original black briefcase off to @John McVicker at Solid Axle Summit 8 in 24’
He drove it out to the Sierra Nevada’s in California. I’m sure he’d like to pass it on to someone willing able to reach out !

I saw John a few weeks ago at the Bakersfield Rally. That would have been a great place for a handoff…assuming he still had it.

I'll be in Ennis in a couple of weeks, then down to Jackson Wyoming a few weeks later.

If there are any takers in the Jackson area.

Is a regular steel tool box, it’s got all kinds of stuff in it. I got roped into this thing without understanding what the point was and I stalled it for like… forever.

I'm willing to go pick it up from @John McVicker and drive it to SAS 10 for a handoff (and I know John is going to SAS) just trying to get some relay action too.
Wondering if John still has it…???

¨What is the history behind the brief case and the tool box? ¨

originated idea from @sggoat then spearheaded in this thread by @hecrod

Why is it important to move them around the country?

We will create an FJ40 cross-country expedition--one that has Legs running from North to South, East to West and diagonally across the USA (and maybe Canada and Mexico as well?). This expedition will be of a relay format, with some relay portions completed by individuals, and others by groups. We also hope it becomes ever-green, with legs kicking off from time-to-time in years to come!

Fun and a way to meet other mud member to make personal connections

Is there something special about having either one in your possession?

Why do this??? Everyone will have their own reasons, but would you agree that this would be an excellent way to see our Country, through the eyes of others, connected through our beautiful 40's? We would have the opportunity to actually "meet" many of those who we've "known" in this Forum for years. If it causes one or two of you to finish long standing projects, then all the better!;)

Bragging rights mostly :)

If you remember Elsie from TLCA TT fame? .... kinda like that... with a more personal addition by each member when they have possession

possible inspiration as well as maybe from @65swb45 ś ¨ Contests ¨ that he was running way back when

either way... its something to do because sometimes life sucks and your cruiser is keeping you from loosing it :meh: IMHO

Elsie inspirational?:

Missing since 96’ maybe one day Elsie will find its way into the briefcase

At one time there was Elsie the Armadillo from the TLCA that made trips to different parts of the USA... How about a stuffed animal of some sort...

You could just 'have' the item for a time as well and document his/it's travels in your life

I travel regularly between Albany NY and Wells ME ...165miles... But... As said before ... Timing
Anybody else have fond memories of Elsie the Armadillo ?
