So Haedis arrived yesterday under the great care of @dogfishlake it was a treat to flag him into the house and unwrap it. @Cowboy45 had a good time. @Ocho77 also did a great job packing everything. His youngest daughter who loves Haedis also sent @Cowboy45 a special note.

@Cowboy45 and I tried something out as a trial today. When one does a disc brake conversion or knuckle job, painting the hubs, steering arms, lower trunnion bearing cap, etc. becomes a chore because you typically have to tape up areas where you don’t want pain to hit. In place of taping, @Cowboy45 and I placed a thin film of grease on all surfaces that should not get paint. It was quick to do this. Then we hit it with paint and wiped off grease applied areas. Worked well. First pic with hub all painted, second pic is same hub in first pic but with grease area wiped off.

It’s viewed as commodity and “should be cheap”. It’s a fair bit of work. $price will weed out those that don’t appreciate what it takes. Not doing this for food on the plate, but where it’s valued.

That's a serious tool score, CD. Very well done.

When I was 16 and with access to a shop and tools like that, I would be getting it done too!

Keep up the updates for all of us to enjoy!
It’s good money for a 16yr old. I agree. 😁More about getting hands and mind to be one is what is behind it all. Win-win!!

Impressed you all have time for wrenching and sports, gives me hope for my boys! (They're all about sports currently)
He drives. He manages his time. Not easy. When in doubt priority is school, sports, and wrenching. He is trying to get a tennis scholarship. Giving him the chance to see if he can.

“The old man”:meh:

Getting there amidst all.

@Cowboy45 took a joyride in Hades today right after he got home from tennis. Trying to figure out little things we need to get sorted out before inspection and registration. Got a new fuse panel/ LED lights from City Racer. Figured out that the floor dimmer switch does not work as normal/bright mode. It cut lights out when you press it. Need to figure it out. Last thing is horn and wipers.

These are great lessons in attention to detail. Especially the paint pen as a torque and loosening indicator. Good job, sir.

It will be easy to spot an Elf Barn build :p
