I was hoping to get to the bottom of this prob.

I got some info that this carb hasn't even been been run much and was replaced before the car sat for a few decades too.
Sounds like I might have to enlist Marks services for the shaft leak

Is there a vac tube avail that I can attached myself to this hole above the mixture for my to be installed vac advance dizzy? Looks like it might be threaded in?

I'm thinking "NO". That plug looks to be to plug the passageway drilled for the mixture screw. The ported vacuum source you want has to be drilled in a very specific place at a very specific angle. Mark A. can do that.

Decent advise. So, I took the air cleaner off and thought I would see if I could get a bit more granular in where the vac leak is coming from and it looks to me, the leak is not in fact the insulator but the back of the throttle linkage shaft is where the leak is and I've read that there are not bearings or sleeves avail to correct this or is there? Thoughts?

Have you hit the opening where the shaft passes through with some carb cleaner? Does it make a noticeable change?

No, I'm sorry, I would not advise anyone to order from SOR unless they had exhausted all other possibilities.
Also:
1) I don't use those base gaskets.
B) If I had to put a gasket there I'd make my own out of very good gasket material.
III) Those gaskets come in a carb rebuild kit. I would advise everybody with a carb to keep one or two carb rebuild kits on hand.
What do y'all think - put the gaskets on dry? Or coat them with a little engine oil?

I think it would depend on what gasket material you're using. Some people like to soak a paper gasket in water before applying, if it's a fancier gasket I'd just put it on dry.

I suppose I could advance timing or increase idle speed a tad but I was hoping to get to the bottom of this prob.
I always suggest that one should advance timing to get best manifold vacuum, then retard just a hair. Maybe more, maybe less depending on gas and altitude and stuff. The advanced timing may increase your idle speed and you'll want to turn out your idle speed screw. More vacuum is better, might even help you find your leak easier

I just ordered a smoker from Amazon. Next maybe a bong too if I cant find the leak

Look up Lean Drop Method for setting idle mix and timing.
