Or a Time-Sert, but it's a more expensive option and maybe not needed for your application. I did use one on a stripped front brake caliper, which is more critical.

That was my first choice. This is another instance where I'll have to shell out some $ for someone else to drill it straight and pop in a coil.

You might want to have someone else put a coil in all those holes, while you're there.

yeah I am thinking do time inserts and, do both of the shorter vertical bolt holes

USed helicoils on my T stat housing in my Fj40 with stainless bolts .

It might save you another trip to the shop if you put inserts in the 4 holes that hold the carb studs

Those dont seem to be an issue as since I replaced the studs they are good. That said, not a bad idea..

Brass nuts were used back in the day as it was thought they were less prone to seizing. The choice is yours.

ok, slowly torqued to 25lbs, FSM says 22-29. recommended to start, it warm up then re-torque?
