I like how you mounted the ECU 90 degrees different than mine. I might need to consider that.

It's always great to see how other folks do things. I used two small "L" brackets, and a little dynomat under the ECU to dampen any vibrations. I don't know if the Dynomat is needed, but I had a piece laying around.

Iam still jealous of your neat Harness! :D

Dynomat. Great idea.

The harness is factory new, unmolested. The second harness that I needed to tease out of the cowl harness comes into the glovebox from the side to the left of the ECU.

Dude is it friggin' steaming or what? Like an oven...........and the upstairs AC died yesterday. I love summer in TX.

More wiring stuff - maplight Littlelight

My son uses a littlelite by his bed to read, and I remembered I had a 18" littlelite stored away in the garage. Then I remembered this cool light switch from Mot (Yellow pull switch in dash)... So one thing lead to another...

First I modified the Littlelite, so the flexible arm would extend from the side of it's mounting base, and took off the adjustable switch, plugged the holes on the base and mounted it to the truck.(sorry, no picts) I then used the existing FJ40 dome light wire as a pull wire to run a extra power wire up to the windshield frame.

Now my co pilot can read a map, or open a beer in the dark!

Topless

Today I decided to start in on all the weather striping. Last time I drove in the rain, I had water dripping on my feet from the dash. NOT GOOD!

After taking off the top - I found that most of the rubber parts were cracked. No Big surprises, just a little surface rust.

The only problem now is that I like having the top off!! ;)

Hey just sprinkle in some soap and wash yer feet while you drive next time..............

Are you implying my feet stink??

Hey just sprinkle in some soap and wash yer feet while you drive next time..............

I've driven the truck in several rain storms, but this one was bad, I could barely see 10 feet ahead of me. It was also at night, and I had both kids with me. It was not a very run ride..luckly we where only a few blocks from the house, but it seemed like miles! ;)

Just trying to make use of that water in the cab........man you should see the weatherstripping on the red 76 up at CCOT. Unbelieveable. On my 76 tub, some jacques-asz hacked off the hardtop "legs" that sit down into the body thinking the roof was rusted in place, I guess.

Gonna have to figure out how to remove the stumps. Otherwise just grab me a Pilgrim's tub while I'm there................

I've been up to CCOT and taken a good luck at both the trucks - fantasic.

Iam just going to order most of the seals from them, and the windshield seal from Toyota. Unless some one can tell my why not. It's much more expensive OEM...

Kids love the top off. I stopped buy Wimberly 4x4, and saw Grant5127. He is alive..had a computer crash, so he has not been checking e-mail much or surfing ih8mud.

I picked a SOR 1 piece tail gate while I was there, works great for what it is.

Also Grant and I had a long talk about the windshield Cushion.. He said to spend the funds and go OEM. Today I received my CCOT version of this cushion - I'll post up some pictures of each.

Stella is at the body shop, and here is a few shots of the progress. The front end is being finished. A surprise we found this morning after cleaning up the dirt and old rubber off the DS donor door - is more rust than we care to deal with.

So Iam hunting for another door, or maybe use the CCOT skins??

Hey Mark. My doors are the same but at the VERY bottom. They have to be reskinned someday. Until then, NO DOORS. Very inexpensive solution. I did take a look at the Pilgrim half doors. Sound very light/hollow to me and your wallet will sound the same after the purchase........

Tube Doors

Mark, if you plan to leave the top off, just buy these...

Metal Tech Cage Products

Good looking and very rugged. Check 'em out on Tucker's 40.

Then I would lose all my A/C! ;)

Here is a Idea, I think you should take the top off your truck, and sell me your doors. :D
