Then I would lose all my A/C! ;)

Here is a Idea, I think you should take the top off your truck, and sell me your doors. :D

Leave the top off and you'll have natural AC, and save yourself $1K+.

My doors have the rust curse too, just not that bad. Yet.

a little body work

Ed's paint and body make some progress today! I stopped buy at lunch and they had just finished the base coat. I might have the truck for the weekend, if not - Monday for sure. :bounce:

I've still got some rust in the rear!

The plan is so tackle that maybe this summer using the CCOT skins. After having several discussions with Ed, he does not feel I should replace the tub. The floor is in great shape, and the wheel wells where butchered buy the PO. I just won't let anyone see the truck from the rear. :D

Clear coat got done today.

Wet Sanding to begin in the am. The Paint matches great - you can see the hood paint we did last February on the hood. Ed is very old school, he mixes the paint by feel, and had several test pieces laying on the hood last week to pick one to match the hood. Not really OEM, but I the shade of red is very close.

Mark- very nice and quite a bit o' progress. Why didn't you re-skin the doors? I was poking around my tub the other day and realized I have chopped out the pass side inner sill and "curve" of the quarter panel at the bottom as it was mostly bondo. I am at the point where the tub must be fastened down. Guess I'm gonna need some sheet metal for that rear quarter plus a sill kit. Damn I wish I knew how to MIG weld.

Alex, the door where not reskined. I had a set of good quality doors, the Passager side did have some rust on the bottom, but Ed was able to cut it out and wield in some new metal. Here is a quick shot of the metal he cut out. He did a fantastic job, and of course the day he had it all finished before the primer, I had no camera with me! ;)

OK then I'll bring my doors down to him. Mine are swiss cheesed in the same width but only at the curved area. What's he charge to do patches? Perhaps he could do my driver's floorboard and the rear quarter/sill? All in I need less than a square foot or so patched in for the entire tub.

Oh and also where the dumbass PO had a "circle" cut out by hand for an aux gastank. I figure a 5X5 square would solve that issue.

Alex,

Iam not sure what he would charge you - E-mail me off line and I'll send you some info. Do a search here on Ih8mud, Ed's info in here someplace. I know Randy had a body guy, and Iam sure you could find one up in Dallas. The thing with Ed is that you have to be a squueky wheel to make sure he stays on track, my office is 5 minutes from him shop, so I was able to go over there at lunch. If your doors are that bad, I think buying a clean set will be better then dumping labor into yours. In the end you might spend the same amount of money, but won't have a patched together door. -MMW

Picked up the 3FE40 today!

Here are a few shots, Iam very pleased with Ed, his attention to detail was great. The CCOT door seals are the way to go. They are very thick and worked out great.

Now I just need to repaint the tub... :D
