you redrill the hole down 1/4"
then you will need to either cut the dash pad as i did to allow the face to sit lower or sand the bottom 1/4" off
the replacement dash pad from Radd Cruisers. new was $500, used, delivered was a very good deal.
it was nice having the old dash to practice on. the cut has to be percise and you can't cut past the end AT ALL or the crack will continue over time.
measure, measure, go have a coffee, come back and remeasure again. steady the hand and score the first line, go back and score slightly deeper, repeat and repeat. then move over 1/4" and repeat again. cut in from the ends, do not cut to the end from the inside or you will end up with an oops.
okay, so you have the test piece done, now do it again with the new dash pad.
