LOL, good time to recall that this started with what looked like 2 slightly-larger-than-quarter-sized bubbles on the frame.

Are You going to cruise Moab this year?

We'll be in the neighbourhood but have opted to pass on the event this year and do our own thing.
Are you?

New frame arrived from Japan!

Of interest is all the vent holes on the inside of the frame - this is new since my truck was built. Hopefully this helps it breathe a little, and will make it a lot easier to give it the occasional spray of Fluid Film. I'm cautiously optimistic this one will hold up quite a bit better than my original. Also makes me feel better about opting for factory over the glass frame. Time will tell.

Rob's got it all seam sealed, and it's off to the body shop tomorrow for finishing and paint.

I like that vent hole system on that. Looks like a good retro idea for the rest of us.

what will you use to seal the windscreen gasket against the frame?

Ok, assuming you meant the gasket in that picture, no sealant. There are 3 dowels on each corner that the gasket ends stretch over, and the main body of it lies in a groove.

Stuff like this is why I love abandoning my truck in Rob's care. Guaranteed he peered at this crusty looking wiper arm assembly out of the corner of his eye enough times that he finally couldn't take it anymore...

Only thing holding up final assembly is 2 corner gaskets for the hardtop still in the mail... hopefully not lost in space :crybaby:
Getting close though. Should hopefully have it home in time to leave for Utah... in my 81 :oops::lol:

Meant the gasket that hugs the windshield.

I changed the cracked windshield on my truck, now it leaks between glass and gasket and between seal and window frame. got some 3M sealant, 3M 08509 Windscreen Sealer, but wait for warmer days to put it.

hence my question for you.

@ALEXY - Rob says he uses a Urethane auto glass sealant, he was unsure the brand. He did say what you have now is good stuff and should work well for you.

@PATHnz I believe it was 56301-60140.
Shipping is the bitch. IIRC the part was around $650, shipping from Japan was around $350 (all cdn dollars)
