Now I need to actually acquire a FTE, global shipping logistics are slowing that process down.

Not like I’m in a big hurry on this truck anyway.

Looks like that Yanmar FTE valve cover I picked up may just come in handy.

Did you get the ECU from Dave yet?

Nope. Spacing out the big expenditures. I started with the pedal, looks like 78010-60021 will fit in the pedal bucket.

Where did you find the fuel switching solenoids/wiring harness? Think I finally found a front factory fuel tank. I had cobbled a 80 series tank in the front of mine bc the 75 series tank I had wouldn't fit. The sub tank I used was a 74 series tank. Fit just right and it was free.

The solenoids came with my tanks from Canada….they can be pieced together part by part. Message me and let’s see if we can find more in Canada for you.

Getting closer…

Height control?

Donor motor!

FTE has been acquired and I’m working out shipping logistics.

One of the last important pieces of the puzzle arrived today…a 79 series manual ECU.

Teach them when they are young… My son who is now in college, made me this 40 series from scratch 10 plus years ago.

Even though I’m switching to an FTE, I needed to source a throttle linkage for a 1HZ I have. So…might as well do two. Here’s the parts list:

Santa Dave @Japan4X4 is one of my favorite people. Always delivers the goodness. Merry Christmas Galen.

Same to you, R! And all the rest of you MUDders out there.

Long time no post.

Lots to tell all y’all, but in short, my motor is here, my wiring harness from Mick Wallin in Australia has arrived, and with a little help from Bill Stayner, this thing runs. Idles like a champ. Motor only appears to have 65,000 km. I’m going to start diving in and tearing stuff apart. It has a VNT turbo and a adjustable intake manifold… I will be needing some opinions from all of you on best steps for getting rid of all that extra crap. It also has a viscous heater with duplicated waterlines. Those unexpected variations will be dealt with shortly and in due time. Check out this video of getting it to run on the standalone harness:

Out of control, sounds great Galen!
