$5.15 usd/usgal in rural Alberta. yipekaiyay MF!
This might make sense if:
a) EVs were available
b) the EV battery technology was actually viable
c) the cost of EVs was reasonable
d) deliveries of EVs were reasonable
e) charging infrastructure...
So this project just got huge. Hence the delay in posts.
I have a habit of "while you're in there" work, and boy oh boy, I found a lot of stuff to do while I'm in there.
So I pulled absolutely EVERYTHING from the engine bay. It was filthy, and...
The truck is great. Taking the drawers out saves a fair amount of weight. I now have a fully functional instrument cluster. And the new Gturbo unichip is much much better than the prior Gturbo chip. We took it for a cruise this evening and it...
To misquote @Godwin in @OGBeno ‘s old 60 thread, “when you sell your 80, how much of yourself goes with it? “
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: this truck really is the ultimate expression of what an 80 series can be. You have other...
I recently treated some rust in the back and came access these plugs, lot of them were unused:
I can take some more pics if you want, mines made in October 2001.
I did a quick search on the forum about a trailer brake plug under the dash but...
Mine is connected via 2 cables. One goes to this plug on the passenger side
The other comes from the driver side, directly out of a grommet in the body, which is strange. It's the thinner cable behind the main harness. It might be a previous...
After swapping my 3FE FJ80 over to an H150F, It drives well enough that I've decided it's not worth it to me to swap over to a 1HD-T. I like the 3FE a lot, and I'd rather put that time and money into finishing my Datsun and doing other fun mods...
Thank you for the reply! I’ll have a closer look and see if I can find anything that resembles the Factory plug.
By the way, would it be possible to post the 13 pin plug you have as a reference?
Hello,
I am hopeful that some of our friends in Europe will chime in about this, @Moridinbg or @YvesNL possibly. Do European early LHD HDJ100 wire harnesses (1998-2002) have the Factory plug that plugs into a trailer brake controller behind the...
Next stop - drawers!
I want to make them out of metal. Everybody makes them out of wood, because it's easy to work with and tools are cheap, but wood sucks. It's super heavy and it's not durable. I like it in my living room, not in my car :D...
First thing I would check is for blockages in the intake. When I was rolling in a 100 series I pulled apart my intake around the egr valve and found it severely choked up with soot and oil. There is a heap of info out there already on the subject...
$5.19/gallon last fill up north of Denver Colorado. I’ve seen it as high as $5.95/gallon near the interstate Highway returning from Moab Utah last weekend. Doubtful it’ll be going down any time soon.
I don't think any will "damage" the engine any time in the near future, but I also live in AB, and here's what I do. for my fall oil change I run Rotella 5w. For my spring oil change I go to 10w or 15w, depending on what I can find. Rotella is...
David,
I recommend having a pyrometer regardless of whether or not you’re upping the boost or swapping turbos. If your stock turbo gets too hot for too long it’s toast. And you’re stuck.
FYI there is a company in Australia that offers LHD...
YotaMD and ADGU are standing by to do what we can to sponsor it and make it happen. We don't have time to contribute, though, and that is likely the "thing" that's needed.
If there's a group of people (or a person or two) with some time and...
I have no interest in going but it sure seems like there is demand for this to be a regular event. Wouldn't there be some folks interested in running it if it wasn't a burden to a limited number of organizers? Set up a Colorado not-for-profit...
